Skyfall Stars are seen during the Asaad encounter in Vortex Pinnacle.
Abilities
Arcane Barrage (Heroic mode) 50000 yd range — Launches a ball of arcane energy at the enemy target, causing 2700 to 3300 (5400 to 6600) Arcane damage.
Strategies
There are two groups of these stars, with approximately a dozen of them in each group. They will activate as soon as a player enters their (considerably large) aggro radius. They do not have an aggro table and appear to be both untauntable and have unlimited range. When activated, the entire cloud of stars will start firing painful bolts of magic at random party members and will not stop until you (or they) are dead.
Feign Death doesn't fool them for an instant and it does not seem possible to out-range or LOS them within the instance.
They only have around 35k hit points (62k on Heroic) and are hence relatively fast to kill, provided the party starts this fight like they mean it. If a group accidentally trips them and attempts to withdraw (or goes in half-heartedly after someone triggers it too early) then the whole party will probably die.
This makes it one of the few encounters where a frantic charge and indiscriminate beating is not merely acceptable, but recommended.
