Shinfel Blightsworn is a powerful blood elf warlock member of the Council of the Black Harvest. Present during the battle against Cho'gall, he made her become a slave within her very own mind. Her blood had been corrupted by his dark magics and her arms are now covered in black marks left behind by the corruption that had erupted from her skin. The experience had only served to increase the intensity of her sadism. Her attire of choice is adorned with sharp spikes of twilight elementium.

After convening with her fellow warlocks on the Council, Shinfel was partnered with Zelifrax Wobblepox to hunt down the scattered remnants of the Twilight Cult, and glean what knowledge (and, consequently, power) they could from the cultists -- one way or another.[1]

Legion

Legion This section concerns content related to Legion.

After the Battle for the Broken Shore, Shinfel and the rest of the Council of the Black Harvest sought out a powerful warlock to take place as the Sixth member of the Council, having since lost Kanrethad Ebonlocke. They met in the sewers of Dalaran to open a portal into the deepest parts of the Twisting Nether and bind a powerful demon to their will in order to grow stronger against the Burning Legion.[2] Things went wrong as the powerful demon they managed to summon, Jagganoth, overwhelmed the Council, killed Zelifrax Wobblepox, and took the others captive on his personal world, Dreadscar Rift.

Shinfel, after being tortured by demons and find them boring, was eventually freed by the Sixth of the Black Harvest alongside the other members but Ritssyn Flamescowl, who had succumbed from his wounds. Together, they infiltrated the archives of Jagganoth and stole the Tome of Blighted Implements. Unfortunately, they were discovered; Jagganoth, burning with rage, attacked them and knocked all the members of the Council to the ground, except for the Sixth who managed to flee and return to Dalaran with Calydus, a demon that joined their cause.[3]

The captured members were thus sent to the dreadlord Mephistroth on the world of Niskara. As the only free members of the Council of the Black Harvest, Ritssyn Flamescowl - who had been resurrected - and the Sixth, with the aid of Kira Iresoul, created a demonic gateway to the world of Niskara, the First entered the portal searching for the captive members and saved them from the Legion, but Shinfel was nowhere to be found. However, her imp, Golarb, explained to the First in his dying breath that her mistress was gone, taken by the dreadlord Mephistroth. This was terrible news to the Council: if Mephistroth managed to break Shinfel, he would be able to mount a devastating attack against Dreadscar Rift armed with her power and knowledge.[4]

The Council needed to gather the tools to perform a powerful enough ritual to summon her back to Dreadscar. In order to create the anchor needed for the ritual of summoning, they needed to link something of Shinfel's to an unclaimed soul. The soul would act like a beacon, guiding Shinfel through the Twisting Nether and back to Dreadscar Rift. Shinfel's staff provided them with the link they need, but the soul was a bit harder to find: the First had to slay the Amalgam of Souls within Black Rook Hold to retrieve a powerful, lost and forgotten soul.[5]

Creating the anchor required more power than the Council members' soul shards were able to provide, so they sent the Dreadscar troops, which were capable of amassing a large amount of soul shards when they defeated enemies, gather more. Ritssyn then harvested the soul shard supply and used it to craft the anchor.[6]

Ritssyn thus finally bound Shinfel's soul to her staff and he, alongside Kira Iresoul and the First, proceeded and summoned Shinfel. But she was dizzy, and in pain: she had been afflicted with a Curse of Doom by the Eredar Twins, Lady Sacrolash and Grand Warlock Alythess. The First went seeking for the knowledge of the alchemist Mad Ernie, who had worked with Ritssyn in the past, and who was now living in a Gilnean farm in Val'sharah. He told the First that the magic of a doom curse grows stronger as time goes on, eventually leading to death, and that only the caster of the curse can remove it. He crafted an elixir that would slow its progression for Shinfel by weakening it for some time.[7][8]

Since only the caster of a curse could remove the curse entirely, the Council decided they had to summon the powerful Eredar Twins to force them to cure Shinfel. Having previously fed Kira Iresoul's Bloodstone with the blood of hundreds of demons, the Council summoned the Eredar Twins and managed to enslave them using the Bloodstone, forcing them to cure Shinfel.
