This article contains lore taken from Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, the manuals, and/or official bonus maps.

The Sea King was a very powerful sea giant who came to lead the sea giants surrounding the Echo Isles. He found the axe, Killmaim, after it had been thrown into the sea by Dethorin. The sea giant personally made his home outside of Vol'jin's first base camp on the isles and his might went unmatched until Admiral Daelin Proudmoore sent his plans in motion to invade the newly formed orc capital of Orgrimmar.

Sent by Warchief Thrall the beastmaster Rexxar and his companions Rokhan and Chen Stormstout traveled to the Echo Isles to seek the aid of the Darkspear tribe for the coming battle with Daelin. After pushing back Daelin's men from the isles Vol'jin sent them to lite pyres that would signal the trolls on the island to head out to the mainland, pyres that were being guarded by the Sea King.

In a tenacious and surprising attack, Rexxar and his companions, aided by the Darkspears, attacked and killed the Sea King in To Tame a Land.
