PvP trinket

The PvP trinkets are trinkets purchased through the PvP reward system, which can be used to remove all movement impairing effects and all effects which cause loss of control of your character. The term "PvP trinket" may also be used more loosely to refer to any trinket sold as part of the PvP reward system.

Notes

There are a number of different PvP trinkets, with progressively more powerful trinkets becoming available as the player increases in level. Each is available in a separate Alliance and Horde version (obtainable only by members of that faction), and all are bind on pickup, except for the heirloom trinkets which are bind to account.

Trinkets are available for level 60, 70, 80 and 85. Level 60 and heirloom trinkets have a 5 minute cooldown, while all others have a 2 minute cooldown. Higher-level and heirloom trinkets also grant additional secondary stat bonuses. Level 70, 80 and heirloom trinkets grant resilience bonuses, while at level 85 numerous versions are available, each improving a different secondary stat.

The racial abilities [Will to Survive] (Human) and [Will of the Forsaken] (Undead) provide the same effect as a PvP trinket, and with only a 2 minute cooldown, offer a significant advantage for players under level 70. [Will to Survive] shares a full cooldown with the PvP trinkets, giving human players little reason to equip one, thus saving a trinket slot. However, [Will of the Forsaken] shares only a 30-second partial cooldown with them, meaning that forsaken players with PvP trinkets can achieve the same effect as often as twice per 2 minute period.

With the exception of the lvl 60  [Insignia of the Horde]/ [Insignia of the Alliance] which are granted as quest rewards, and those matching the current PvP season (eg Cataclysmic Gladiator's Medallion of Tenacity) which are purchased using conquest points, all PvP trinkets are purchased in exchange for honor.

Horde

Numerous trinkets are available at level 85 in exchange for honor or conquest, corresponding with the current PvP season (eg  [Ruthless Gladiator's Medallion of Meditation] and Cataclysmic Gladiator's Medallion of Cruelty). All of these trinkets have a 2 minute cooldown, and offer various secondary stat bonuses.

Sources

Most PvP trinkets can be purchased from various Quartermasters found in the Champions' Hall (Alliance) or Hall of Legends (Horde), while a few can be found elsewhere. See PvP Quartermasters for a list.

  • Level 85 trinkets can be bought from Honor Quartermasters, Conquest Quartermasters or Glorious Conquest Quartermasters
  • Level 60-80 trinkets can be bought from Legacy Armor Quartermasters
  • Heirloom trinkets can be bought from Honor Heirloom vendors
  • The Insignia can also be earned by completing a level 60 quest in Hellfire Peninsula
  • Death knights receive the equivalent  [Insignia of the Scourge] during their starting quest line, from a quest which involves dueling other death knights

Previous trinket effects by class

The original trinkets (Insignia of the Alliance/Horde) have a class requirement, but the trinkets for all classes are identical. In the past, each class's trinket countered different effects.

All classic World of Warcraft trinkets had a 5 minute cooldown and dispelled up to three forms of CC from the user. They were usable while under the effects of the CC, even if the CC otherwise prevented trinket use.

The following table lists which form of CC each classes' trinket neutralized. Notice trinkets did not provide immunity; they only reactively dispelled already existing effects.

Class Charm Fear Stun Root Snare [Polymorph]
Priest X X X
Mage X X X
Warlock X X X
Druid X X X
Rogue X X X
Shaman X X X
Hunter X X X
