Navigations of the Soul

PERSONAL LOG ONE

Dornogal. It feels like I know this place, but I'm experiencing it for the first time. I don't quite understand it.

I've talked to many of my kin, and they've explained as much as they could, but it hasn't helped at all.

This is my home, but it doesn't feel that way.

I wonder if it ever will.

PERSONAL LOG TWO

As the days go by, attitudes seem to be changing. My kin can be rigid and stubborn, but there's a warmth to them.

I've learned about what led to my day of awakening. Tribulations that lasted millennia.

I've awoken during a shifting age. I wonder what this means for me. Where is my place?

PERSONAL LOG THREE

Speaker Brinthe insists I come up with a name for myself. I've toyed with different names.

Aurora? It doesn't quite fit, but it's what I saw before I woke. I will never forget that beautiful light, the warmth of that voice.

Maybe something vibrant like Coral?

No, that doesn't quite fit either. I'll keep thinking.

PERSONAL LOG SIX

I feel less hesitant now. Adjusting to our society and all the rules has proven difficult.

As much as I love my kin, I still can't quite understand their adherence to tradition. They say it's what you're supposed to do.

Why?

When I asked Brinthe, she had a different answer. At one point we served the Titans.

But now?

Now we choose to serve one another. This has inspired me.

PERSONAL LOG NINE

My name is Dawn.

I had to write this down. It came to me after watching the sun rise over Dornogal.

Dawn, the start of a new day, of a new age. The end of darkness, the beginning of something more.

This I feel represents who I wish to be.

PERSONAL LOG TEN

I've been helping the Foreman quite a bit. He has been teaching about the rigid processes that my kin used to experience.

The machines don't seem to do well with we Awakened.

And the Foreman's language at times can be harsh. I know he doesn't mean it in that way.

Thank the cogs that Caretaker's exist. They seem to be a bit more prepared.

It takes time to change your ways--but I hope the Foreman adjusts sooner rather than later.

PERSONAL LOG TWELVE

Next week I start implementing my improvements to the Awakening Protocol.

I hope that they go well. Our awakening shouldn't be frightening. It should feel the same as the song's warm embrace.

No matter what happens, I do know this is a step into a new age.

One day earthen will travel beyond the shores of Khaz Algar. But for now, the first step.

Our society is changing. But there's no reason it must all be at once.
