Marvin was a stable groom in service to House Wrynn during Anduin's childhood. He was hardly older than Anduin. When King Varian brought the prince to the stables to give him his first pony, Anduin asked why horses were measured in hands. Varian admitted he didn't know and gruffly asked Marvin if he knew, but neither he nor anyone else in the stables did.

When Anduin related the story to Mathias Shaw, Shaw got a distant expression on his face and claimed that he didn't know the stable boy. Anduin felt that Shaw was lying and that Marvin had probably died at some point.
