Malvingeroth is a pit lord and lieutenant of the Burning Legion who took part in the War of the Ancients over 10,000 years ago.
Acting as a commander for the demonic forces attacking Black Rook Hold, Malvingeroth became personally involved in the fight against the Kaldorei Resistance. During the battle, he confronted a trio of powerful Resistance members—Illidan Stormrage, Jarod Shadowsong, and Broxigar the Red—and was subsequently slain by their combined might.

- Malvingeroth is a reference to one of the click quotes from the Pitlord in Warcraft 3. After clicking enough times, a skit plays concerning "Jaina in the Morning", a talk show, where Malvingeroth and his girlfriend, Kim, are hosted. There, it is revealed that Malvingeroth, which includes his title the Hunter of Night, is a demon to Kim, who is confused, as she believed he worked for the post office. He ultimately attempts to pass this off as moonlighting.
