Lubbins is a proto-whelp companion, earned as a reward from 
[1-70] Oh Where, Oh Where Can He Be?.
Jyhanna, who works at the Little Scales Daycare in Valdrakken, found Lubbins abandoned and rescued him. She brought him to the daycare to care for him and find a good home for him. When he later fell into a ravine below the daycare, Jyhanna sent an adventurer to find and rescue him. They healed his wounds, but his confidence was still injured.
The adventurer sought out expert pet trainers in the Dragon Isles—Patchu and Haniko. They advised the adventurer to help Lubbins become stronger by battling other pets, and to capture a Shyfly to be his friend. With these steps, Lubbins regained his good spirits.
