Lord Malgath is a fel orc encountered in the Assault on Violet Hold. During the first two stages of the dungeon, he periodically appears—floating above the ground and protected by a fel barrier—to open portals for Burning Legion forces. At the end of the first two stages, he opens a random prison cell containing one of the dungeon's bosses while also introducing the boss with a short description. At the end of the third stage, he lands in the center of the hold to personally attack the players. Upon his death, the final boss of the instance—either Fel Lord Betrug or Sael'orn—spawns.

Abilities

•  Shield Destruction — Weakens the magic keeping a prisoner at bay.

In combat

•  Fel Slash — A sweeping attack that strikes all enemies in front of the caster. Inflicts 648630 to 681370 Fire damage to targets.
•  Shadow Bolt Volley — Launches a volley of shadow energy towards all players, inflicting 243750 to 256250 Shadow damage.
•  Shadow Bomb  — Inflicts damage and causes Shadow Bomb on enemies caught in the blast.
•  Summon Shadow Beasts — Summons Shadow Beasts at nearby player's locations.
