Forum:SMW and references

Seems the SMW doesn't care all that much to references and becomes a problem when references are needed in the infoboxes such as Orgrimmar, where the population is disputed numbers. What's going to be the best way to handle this?

- Split refs off into a separate parameter. --Pcj (T •C ) 12:01, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Alternatively, you can ensure the placement of the information and citation into the article proper. Somewhat different than normally how we work here, but that's what Wikipedia does (even without being SMWized, the infobox is a summary for them rather than a crucial element, as with our infoboxes). --Sky (t · c) 13:22, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
- A third way that you might want to try: Use the {{#tag}} parser function. I'm not sure that will work, but it's worth a shot. --Sky (t · c) 00:03, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
Arrgh. Took me a minute to distinguish between SMW (Semantic MediaWiki) and SWM (MediaWiki Editor). --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:59, August 24, 2010 (UTC)
