So I'm really confused about this. In World of Warcraft the Forsaken are a lot of undead creatures, but it's been abundantly clear that all the Forsaken were a part of the Scourge before they were 'freed'. My question is while they were a part of the Scourge what was the majority of them doing? Previously Flame486 21:54, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

They were Scourge. Forsaken are Scourge that have escaped the will of the Lich King, so presumably before being Forsaken they were doing whatever the Lich King felt like having them do. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 21:56, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Can you specify on that? Were they ghouls, necromancers, etc.? Previously Flame486 22:41, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Edit: I mean the majority of the Forsaken don't really look like anything besides undead. I'd say they look like ghouls but ghouls have a different model than them, if they were acolytes or necromancers then that wouldn't explain why some of them can't wield magic. That would vary wildly between from one undead to another. They didn't all fall into a single category; a wide variety of undead were freed from the Lich King's control after Illidan cracked the Frozen Throne. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 22:48, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
So then you're saying that all scourge look the same? Previously Flame486 22:53, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
No the Scourge represented all the types of undead that were under the control of the Lich King (flesh giants, frost wyrm, skeletons, etc.). For game purposes, the playable Forsaken were restricted to mostly ex-human undead, but for lore purposes they could include any of the array of undead. You'll notice a wider variety of undead NPCs appear in Forsaken settlements than are available to play. It may be that to "free" oneself from the Lich King you need a particular level of intelligence to break his grip, but maybe there are Forsaken plague-dogs as pets of NPCs. --Gengar orange 22x22.png Fandyllic (talk · contribs) 4:43 PM PST 16 Dec 2010
During their time in the Scourge, the Forsaken were mostly zombie foot soldiers. They also included banshees, and possibly abominations. The zombie-Forsaken seemed to be partly on their way to mutating into ghoul-dom as well, due to their stance and cannibalize ability.--SWM2448 23:56, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
