I always looked at this icon and thought he was missing something and I was right, his voodoo mask. However the icon we're using right now look nicer but it was decided against to use borders because they take up space in the icon. I think that would be great, try checking around List of unique character icons and it's talk page. There plenty of people who could use unique icons, like Anub'arak.
