Summary

Key art for patch 2.1.0. Artwork by Wei Wang.

This piece appears on pages 106-107 of The Art of Blizzard Entertainment with the following commentary:

"A classic Wei Wang image. This is the art for the Black Temple patch and this just hit it all. It's a huge regret that we didn't have Illidan more evident in the Burning Crusade expansion itself. You never actually ran into him all that much until the final dungeon, but this image really painted the fantasy of the evil and his menacing control over the forces of Outland." —Chris Metzen
