Expired Test Subjects can be found in the rooms off of the Headmaster's Study at the end of Scholomance. Players who have been assigned a Harsh Lesson by Darkmaster Gandling will be required to fight their way out of the side room back to the main chamber.
Healers who were assigned the Harsh Lesson should instead dispel friendly Fresh Test Subjects to kill the Expired Test Subjects.
