History
Wrath of the Lich King
During the war against the Lich King, he appeared at the Shadow Vault in Icecrown after the Knights of the Ebon Blade took control over it. He directed adventurers against the Mjordin vrykul.

During the third invasion of the Burning Legion, Duke Lankral joins the war by going to Dalaran to help adventurers gain their artifact weapon.
Shadowlands
Following the destruction of the Helm of Domination by Sylvanas Windrunner, the Ebon Blade temporarily lost control of the Shadow Vault when the Scourge attacked and caught them by surprise. Seeking to reclaim the structure, Duke Lankral was present during Death Rising, where he could be found outside the Shadow Vault once more, recruiting champions of the Horde and the Alliance in wresting control away from the enemy,[1] and was able to retake it.
Exploring Azeroth
Following the war against the Jailer, the brothers Bronzebeard reported that the Shadow Vault is still under the control of Duke Lankral, but now that the Scourge is no longer under Bolvar Fordragon's control, it's only a matter of time before a counterattack, since it's such a plum location.[2]
