Items with charges are items that have limit on the number of uses until they are removed from the character's inventory.

For example,  [Discombobulator Ray] has "5 charges", so it can be used only five times, and after that it is gone. Explosives, bombs, and enchantments usually only have one charge. Other kinds of imbues like Mana oils have five charges.

Items with charges usually cannot be equipped but are used directly, either to act upon a target, or to enhance an item (like the Zul'Gurub Enchants rewarded from the Zandalar Tribe).

Some buffs like [Lightning Shield] also have charges, where the buff disappears when all charges are expended.
