I'm looking at Category:Mists of Pandaria scenarios and it looks like the concept and treatment are very similar between the two, but it is takes from Island Expeditions. So in that spirit, do you want to have NPCs, mobs, and objects categorized into Delve mobs, Delve NPCs, Delve objects categories... or have a respective category for each of the Delve and have NPCs, mobs, objects all in those categories? Checking Wowhead data, and it looks like mobs are both, shared across the Delves as well as each Delve has unique mobs. Putting stuff to their respective delve name category (Waterworks, Earthcrawler Mine, etc.) could be interesting (like scenarios), but the pages would have to have them all which might be... excessive (not that I mind that :P)? With the simple Delve NPCs, mobs, and objects categories (like Island Expeditions) would be easier to put in pages. --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 19:51, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

I was thinking the unique things can be in the specific-delve category while stuff that are basically in every single one can be in the more generic "Category:Delve subject". So like I already created Sturdy Chest (delves) but only added the Category:Delve objects to it since they appear in every delve (with the exception of Zekvir's Lair by far). This sounds good on paper, but now we also have to consider that Blizzard plans for Delves to continue beyond The War Within. So like the mobs in the generic Delves category won't suffice for that. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 23:52, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
Yea that sounds good. To account for delves being an evergreen feature, maybe have Category:The War Within delves and in it Category:The War Within delve objects, Category:The War Within delve NPCs, Category:The War Within delve mobs (equivalent to the above Mists of Pandaria scenarios), as well as the <specific delve name> categories with unique stuff in it. Then with Midnight and The Last Titan delves it would be the same. --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 07:03, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
I'd like to point out that not only does each delve currently have 3 or 4 different quests / mobs (not sure how the rotation works on that? difficulty? varies weekly?), but that companions and other things akin to affixes may also be thrown in from season to season. And yes, the achievement category in-game has Delves listed as not an expansion feature, and the War Within Delves are sub-headed and nestled under the "Delves" achievement tab, so them being their own category I think is a smart move. So looks like "<Expansion> delve type" is the way to go forward then! Specific-delve categories can still be created as needed, likely added as a subcategory for the "The War Within delves". This leaves another question: For those unique cases, do we want to just add them to the specific-delve category and split that off to objects, mobs, etc. or just stick to the one specific-delve category and add them to "The War Within objects" for example. For example, Zekvir is a unique mob/boss in Zekvir's Lair, so he'll be in Category:Zekvir's Lair and Category:The War Within delve mobs OR he'll be (likely the only mob) in Category:Zekvir's Lair mobs. I'm leaning toward the former (one category for the specific-delve and the generic expansion delve type category). — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 23:56, 31 August 2024 (UTC)

Think I prefer the first example (have Zekvir in Category:Zekvir's Lair and Category:The War Within delve mobs) --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 07:11, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
This sounds good to me. PeterWind (talk) 14:09, 1 September 2024 (UTC)

Started the structure for it: Category:The War Within delves. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 15:10, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
