Call Pet is a group of hunter abilities used to summon a hunter's pet. Since a hunter can have up to five active pets, there are five different abilities:

• Call Pet 1, learned at level 5.
  • Characters leveling on Exile's Reach learn this ability from   [1-10] Taming the Wilds.
• Call Pet 2, learned at level 10.
  • Characters leveling on Exile's Reach learn this ability from   [1-10] Hunting the Stalker.
• Call Pet 3, learned at level 17.
• Call Pet 4, learned at level 41.
• Call Pet 5, learned at level 48.

All five abilities are available in a single container button, simply labeled "Call Pet." With this button they can be put on the Action Bar together in a single slot. They can also be slotted separately or called by macros using their individual ability names.

Notes

• If you use [Dismiss Pet] when in battle, casting Call Pet will bring the pet back with the same health as when it was dismissed. If the pet automatically despawns because of range, Call Pet will summon the pet with full health.
• Each Call Pet ability's tooltip will automatically change when assigned a pet, matching the pet's icon and assuming the name "Call <pet's name>". This alternate name cannot be used in macros; only "Call Pet <number>" will work.

Trivia

• Call Pet is a rare Hunter spell in the Goblins vs Gnomes expansion of Hearthstone. The flavor text reads: "Real hunters tame hungry crabs."

Patch changes

• Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Call Pet abilities are now learned at levels 5, 10, 17, 41, and 48 (was 1, 13, 34, 57, and 80.)
  
• Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Call Pet 5 is now learned at level 80 (was 82).
  
• Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Call Pet abilities are now learned at levels 1, 13, 34, 57, and 82 (was 1, 10, 42, 62, and 82).
  
• Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Call Pet 2 is now learned at level 10 (was 18).
  
• Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Call Pet has been split into five abilities—one for each active pet. It is available from the moment a hunter character is created, and the quest Taming the Beast is no longer required. Call Pet abilities are learned at level 1, 18, 42, 62, and 82 (previously required level 10).
  
• Patch 2.0.3 (2007-01-09): If your pet has been recently revived by using Call Pet, it will no longer reset back to full health.
