Blood-Thane Lucard is an ancient vrykul vampyr who was buried by the Bonespeakers in the tomb of Dreyrgrot in Stormheim.[3] He was interred alongside a number of cursed artifacts[4] and stones of warning were put up to keep anyone from disturbing him.[5] The Red Blade pirates accidentally woke the Blood-Thane up when they tried to plunder the tomb's treasures.[3] He killed and fed on several of them[6] and turned others into vampyr, and a mist seeping out of his lair drove them mad.[7] Sir Finley Mrrgglton sends adventurers to kill Lucard by staking him. This turns out to be ineffective, and they have to kill him the conventional way instead, though Finley subsequently has his doubts as to whether vampyr can truly die.[3]
Surrounding Lucard in his tomb are the bodies of a couple Plundering Corsair victims, and several more captive Drained Corsairs which he attempts to feed on to heal himself during combat.
Abilities
Blood Ritual — The caster creates orbs of blood magic and propels them towards the target. Touching an orb causes it to erupt inflicting Shadow damage to all enemies within 5 yards. Jumps to one of the room's alcoves and channels for 9 sec.
Consume the Living 50 yd yd range 10 sec cast — Consumes the life force of a nearby pirate, healing 20% of maximum life. Channels on a Drained Corsair. If the cast finishes, the Corsair dies and Lucard heals. The cast itself cannot be interrupted, but the heal can be stopped if the player kills the Corsair before the cast finishes.
Lingering Hunger 50 yd yd range 2 sec cast — Lucard drinks the blood of the target inflicting Physical damage every 0.3 sec and stunning them for 3 sec. Teleports to the target and stuns them in his arms.

Notes and trivia
- Although Finley says that vampyr are undead,[3] Lucard is classified as a humanoid.
- Lucard's name is Dracul (the father of Vlad Dracula) backwards. It is one letter off from Alucard ("Dracula" backwards), a name given to prominent vampire characters in several franchises such as the Universal film Son of Dracula, the video game series Castlevania, and the manga series Hellsing.
