Absolution is a passive priest specialization ability granted upon choosing the Discipline or Holy trees. It enables the priest's 
[Dispel Magic] to be cast on friendly targets to remove 2 harmful magical effects.
As this ability is exclusive to Discipline and Holy priests, Shadow priests are unable to dispel debuffs on friendly targets.
Patch changes
Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Removed, replaced by 
[Purify]. 
Patch 4.1.0 (2011-04-26): Added.
