WoW.tools was a large data mining website for World of Warcraft, developed and maintained by Marlamin (our friendly neighborhood kakapo).
In December 2021, Marlamin announced that the site would slowly be deprecated and eventually removing features from the site.[1] In early 2023, the site would stop archiving builds, stopping with patch 10.0.5.[2] Wago.io launched a new site, wago.tools, intended as a replacement for WoW.tools with some features available. By April 2023, a local version of WoW.tools was made available.[3]
In January 2024, the main website was moved to a subdomain, with the main site showing a splash page indicating that the site will be up until the server breaks or the domain expires in February 2025.[4]
Features
The site had many features:
- Browsing the files (along with a downloadable listfile)
- In-browser model viewer
- DBC browser and exporter
- World map and minimap viewer
- Builds monitor
And a slew of other features.
