Brother William Powell was a priest of the Scarlet Crusade who drove the spider infestation from Lordaeron's Old Monastery's halls when his brethren reclaimed it from the Scourge after the Third War. Poisoned by the spiders' venom, he served as archivist for less than a year before being buried in the Monastery's graveyard.[1] His mace was later taken from the dead hands of another Crusader by an adventurer.[2]
