User talk:WoWWiki-Snorkyorky
Welcome!
Hello, Snorkyorky, and welcome to the Wowpedia! Thank you for your contributions, and we encourage you to continue contributing!
Some useful notes:
- The things to do category has lots of things to keep you busy!
- Some Wowpedians are also very often on our IRC Channel, chat.freenode.net, #wowwiki.
- As a community it is easier to get large amounts of maintenance and community projects done in teams - we like to encourage each wiki-user to join one or two. Check out Community teams for more info!
- Wowpedia isn't an absolute democracy, but many decisions are voted on. See a list of votes in progress.
- Check out the site guidelines and policies!
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wowpedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, just ask on the relevant talk page, or visit the Wowpedia Forums.
Again, welcome! --Pcj (T•C) 13:29, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Hellfire Citadel Population
Where did you get your number?
The other population pages are taken from RPG sources, but Hellfire Citadel has never discussed in the RPG so far. So where did you get your number?Baggins 17:05, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
That goes for the rest of the cities in Outland you have mysteriously pulled numbers out of thin air for (Thrallmar, Shattrath). What is your source? If you made up the numbers, that is not proper, and intead the population should be marked "unknown".Baggins 17:07, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- I repeat the above. Do not continue to add "estimates" without reason. Kirkburn talk contr 14:52, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Speculation category
There's no need to add a rumors category when adding the {{speculation}} template - it's done automatically :) Kirkburn talk contr 17:26, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Never knew thanks. - Snorkyorky 20:13 24th October 2007 (GMT)
Unlinked names and random hero names
Please do not link every name you come cross unless they already have articles to begin with. Some characters are referred to in lore, but have very little or no information worthy of creating a specific article for them.
Especially avoid linking to random hero names, as they are just names, with zero known lore behind them. So they especially do not need articles. We do not need several dozen, "This is a random hero" articles.Baggins 18:10, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Reminder
This is just a general reminder that race and class names aren't generally upper case.Baggins 18:27, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Burning Crusade
The category Burning Crusade is not for the single mobs/npcs, the subcategories of <zone> mobs/NPCs is for them. Please refrain from adding the main category to those that have the subcategory. Thankyou, {T •C ) 23:36, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
WotLK info
When adding some new info about WotLK, remember to show sources so that we can know you aren't just making stuff up . Also, if the new page is just a sentence or two, add a suiting stub-template. --OseTalkz / Contribz 21:06, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- Again you need to post your sources. Alpha content is illegal to be posted here. RealmS (talk) 19:28, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Alpha info
Non-disclosure agreement!
Wowpedia has a strong commitment to remain within the appropriate legal boundaries for a Warcraft fansite. This leads to the ultimate consequence that contributors of Wowpedia are under no circumstance allowed to add information or pictures to the encyclopedia which Blizzard wouldn't like to be out in the public. Usually Blizzard does not mind, but when a game is in alpha production a non-disclosure agreement (abbreviated to NDA) is enforced that all participating which obliges all participating users to abide by strict rules. Currently, the next expansion is in "friends and family alpha testing", with an NDA being in place. Note that information that Blizzard has publicly released is not covered under the terms of the NDA and can be posted on the wiki. As a consequence of this, content obtained from alpha testing sessions is removable under the speedy deletion policy, and action may be taken against accounts which persist in posting such information. |
Info from the alpha is not allowed!--SWM2448 19:36, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Utgarde Catacombs
Utgarde Catacombs is not an instance, it is the 'lobby' for Utgarde Keep (instance). Do you know otherwise?--SWM2448 21:14, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Wrath of the Lich King category
This category does not include everything related to the expansion - only the more major parts. Other content is in the normal categories.
This is quoted from the Category:Wrath of the Lich King. Please don't add this category to mobs, Category:Howling Fjord mobs (and the like) let us know that. {T •C ) 20:27, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Looks like your a βeta teser
You may add [[Category:WotLK beta testers]]
to your user page, which adds you to Category:WotLK beta testers. Also take a look at Project:WotLK beta contacts to add your char info. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 2:18 PM PST 9 Aug 2008
Actually I'm not
"My girlfriend had a..."
Please don't add articles such as "My Girlfriend Had a" as it does not have enough notability to become an article on Wowpedia; a 3 months old bump is not enough. g0urra[T҂C] 08:23, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
