Bracers of the Green Fortress

Hey thanks for fixing my wiki on the  [Bracers of the Green Fortress]. I did look at the Boilerplate:Item and it didn't really help much as far as the layout goes. After you fixed my wiki I now understand what the point of the Boilerplate is, when it originally seemed very confusing.(Maybe I'm just a moron ;-P). I just wanted to get the wiki up there so I could link to it from my server's rare crafting page. However, now I can actually link to something that looks like it took more than 5 minutes to create.--Flop 00:48, 2 March 2007 (EST)

BC DPS Equipment (cloth) vs. BC Priest DPS Equipment

Some time ago you moved BC Priest DPS Equipment to BC DPS Equipment (cloth), stating that this equipment is not exclusive to priests. Well, I think you are wrong.
First: there are no swords there (mages and warlocks can use them, but priests can't). Second: there is some stuff with Shadow Damage (e.g. Boots of the QShifting Nightmare) there, which leaves mages out (it's only for priests and warlocks). And last but not least: there are parts of Incarnate Regalia (T4) and Avatar Regalia (T5) sets there, which are priest only.
To sum it all up: I think we should move this page back to BC Priest DPS Equipment. -- Vysogota 15:18, 3 March 2007 (EST)

Ability Infobox

Questbox and external links for quests

Noticed the What Are These Things name change and addition of external links section. Personally, I didn't think the external links section was necessary, as the questbox template adds links in the "see also" section of the quest box. Whatever you find useful, though. I'll check for links that may have become broken due to the move.--Eirik Ratcatcher 19:48, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

If you actually look at the history of the template you'll find that I was the one that added in the External links section for the Quest Box... User:Kiltek/Sig 09:15, 14 April 2007 (EDT)
Had no complaint about the template, Kiltek! :) And no worries about the additional External links section, Sky. If you missed it, others will to. Leaving that there. I DID, though, go back and reroute all the links to the former page to the moved page name instead of relying on the redirect. There weren't that many, and it seemed neater. --Eirik Ratcatcher 12:59, 14 April 2007 (EDT)

Mage talents/abilities

Hi there. I've had my eye on updating most of the mage stuff, since it was mostly stubs and inconsistent content. I figured I'd start with something simple at the "leaf node" pages like talents, but I can cover the abilities/spells while a new talent boilerplate is being made. The new ability layout is much better than the old. I'll post my thoughts on a "good" ability page over on Talk:Boilerplate:Ability --Piumosso-Uldum 00:11, 19 April 2007 (EDT)

Casual Gamerz looting system

We actually use SK for groups of 20+. I personally expect to run some 40 man runs again at some point, but it might be another 6 months or so. I still want to get into Naxx and BWL, and with all the 70s in my guild we will be able to at some point do them fairly easily. As far as changes to it, I am actually thinking about changing it to be used for any 20+ raid or level 70 10+ raid.

As for how SK works for us, It works pritty well. We have had arguments in the past over it, but with the release of the BC, we have not used it sence. I plan to restart the SK lists with no one in them fairly soon. Most of the arguments that we had in the past were over how people were added to the list and what class got what items. Whether the item went to a class list or to the general list was the main question most times.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dparvin (talk · contr).

Bcarticle -> bc

Ok, cool. I Actually liked the way the Bcarticle template was putting in the note, but either was is fine by me. I will continue correcting pages that do not have the bc template call on them as I find them. User:Dparvin/Sig 19:08, 30 April 2007 (EDT)

I have to admit that I did prefer the way Bcarticle labelled things, but it's not a big deal - I can quite happily live with the Bc template, and agree it's almost certainly better to not have 2 templates for the same purpose. I have amended your bot request to include moving T:Bc up to the top of articles, as some item articles have {{bcarticle}} after the tooltip, and the result of this change breaks the formatting a bit. --Murph 22:16, 30 April 2007 (EDT)
I thought about requesting that... it's about time that that should be done again (It is a request from a while ago). I also like the idea of {{bcarticle}}; however, it breaks more important templates such as {{wikipedia}} :). Not only that, but the verbage used on T:Bc was very explicitly thought over by the crew, which is another issue I had with bcarticle. --User:Sky2042 (talk) 00:15, 1 May 2007 (EDT)

Buffs inside the infobox

Consider: User:Piumosso-Uldum/Sandbox1 --Piumosso-Uldum 22:59, 6 May 2007 (EDT)

I'm going to work on the whole infobox a bit more. There's a parser functions issue that makes it not work well with the pipe code in tables, so some embedded templates are unavoidable. But I can move the parameters to the main template and do the embedding in the code rather than the explicit method now. --Piumosso-Uldum 23:50, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
Check in now. --Piumosso-Uldum 00:33, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
BONUS - I got rid of the pesky blank fields for un-talented abilities. The switch is just to catch the special cases, like the disambig for Magic, and I think Magic is the only one. Putting curse or poison in the template already links to an appropriate article, so the default case catches those. Either way, if an article like curse gets moved to Curse (Dispel Type) I still have to edit the template. --Piumosso-Uldum 00:51, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
Putting the image on the right in the box would be consistent with other tooltip things on wowwiki, like for items. I am tired so I will try that tomorrow. --Piumosso-Uldum 01:29, 8 May 2007 (EDT)

Be careful changing parameter names. It will break pages that already use it, requiring unnecessary edits. --Piumosso-Uldum 00:27, 9 May 2007 (EDT)

When it comes to code, underscore_style, CamelCase, and other styles is akin to British vs. American english. One style has no logical benefit over another other than personal preference (consistency aside), and everyone has their own preference. I only change variable names if the name itself is bad (ambiguous or misleading). Otherwise, I just follow what the programmer in front of me does. Years of software development has taught me to stay out of religious wars. --Piumosso-Uldum 00:51, 9 May 2007 (EDT)

More infobox

For PBAoE, I've just been putting the radius in the range field, but a distinct radius for ground-targeted spells would be helpful, there are a lot out there. It works for some odd things like the arcane brilliance and other group buff which have mechanics that use a similar radius distinct from the spell range. Same with seed of corruption. Piumosso-Uldum 21:57, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Short Stories/Novel Template

There are many sources of "short stories" the RPG books are one of them. While quote or section of article may have a citation to an RPG book, sometimes the info comes from the short stories rather than actual RPG material. Thus the novel template is used to point out that info is from a short story rather than just an rpg material. I haven't completed the "short story" article, but as you notice it contains synopses or links to all short stories found throughout various sources including strategy guides, rpg, and websites, etc.Baggins 10:48, 12 May 2007 (EDT)

Delete/Talk

The current implementation of Delete/Talk doesn't work correctly if you use the "reason" parameters. The "reason" parameters automatically put a vote for you with the specified reason. However, the current implementation will put four straight tildes instead of actually putting your name down as a signature. Look through what I changed and you'll understand. User:Pzychotix/Sandbox at the bottom will have an example of what will happen in it's current implementation. I've fixed it, so currently it looks fine, but if you revert it back to what it was, you'll see that there will be only four tildes instead of my sig.

Pzychotix 20:12, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Though it may be true, can it be fixed rather than putting your sig in there. User:Kirkburn/Sig3 23:48, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
I don't know what you mean. What I've done is only a minor change. By moving the "includeonly" tag just two tildes over, it's fixed. I'm pretty sure that by splitting the tilde's up like that, the four tildes don't get to be processed together, and aren't converted into a sig. Go to my sandbox now. You'll see how it's broken now. Revert it back to my changes, and then see my sandbox again. The four tildes you previously saw will become the signature for the first vote, as intended. I don't see the problem here. Pzychotix 01:36, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
A little more tinkering shows that through proper use (with the subst as it was intended), it's fine, but without the use of the subst, it doesn't work. Although using it without the subst is not intended, I don't feel that's an excuse to not fix a glitch (which is what my edit does). Pzychotix 01:44, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
My bad all. From [1]:
"The code ~~~ will be displayed as ~~~ when the template is not included, ~~~~ when the template is included, but it will only be expanded as the active user when the template is subst'd, which is to say when it has been joined within the same block once again."
Apparently there isn't much of a way to fix it, and I wasn't paying attention to what my change did. Sorry about all this. Pzychotix 04:52, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Now then, your application and credentials appear to be in excellent order, so the fact that we're not accepting new members is the only reason you're not yet brought into the fold. Category:Quests:Faction

You seem to have moved (or militated for the move) of Category:Quests:(faction). I am interested to know what makes that category more worth moving than, for instance, Category:Zone:(zone name)? or is that on your hit list too? --Eirik Ratcatcher 23:08, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

(Pretending to be Sky) We are planning on moving all of those categories eventually (including Instance:(instance), Continent:(continent), Quest:(zone)). It just happened that the Category:Quests:(faction) looked like the easiest to start off with. If all the quest pages were done properly (with no categories hardcoded, just those that the quest box puts in automatically), then it would be incredibly easy to change. Unfortunately there are a plethora of quests which have not been updated in ages and don't even have a quest box, or have categories duplicated by the quest box. In any case, the quest pages being updated is sort of going along with the change, which means its going to take a while. Hope this helps. -Jiyambi t || c 00:48, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Both are on my coughscoughhitlist. :D. As Jiyambi said, this was just the easiest mass change we could do. Atm, we're cleaning out the old categories, usually adding a {{stub/Quest}} or some other such template in the process. --User:Sky2042 (talk) 04:20, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Personal Images (Resolved)

I don't understand why you say I don't have a choice as to where or how I use an image that clearly has no use outside of a personal user page...which is precicely why I made that template and used it on my personal images. It's not like I slapped that template on a Blizzard image of Thrall or an image of the world map or something... I mean, if you can find some other place as to where the images of my personal roleplay characters might, could, or would be used, by all means...do tell. Alternately, if this is one of those "You don't own your these images because they're from in-game World of Warcraft stuff," then fine. All I'm saying is that they have no use outside of my character's profile pages and therefore I believe my template is perfectly fine. Furthermore, don't remove the template from my images and immediately nominate said template for speedy deletion on the grounds of "not used". It never occured to me to publicize my template, quite frankly. I figured it was fine enough on the Templates page. ~ Doc Lithius [U|T|C] 08:59, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

No-one else uses such a template (and literally, no-one). I certainly did not find it necessary for one person to have a template all to themselves ;P. In effect, I was just doing general cleanup of the category it was in and decided we didn't need a personal template in the global template namespace. My personal suggestion would be to use a local template (gah, where's the link?), such as User:Doc Lithius/images. Use of which would be {{User:Doc Lithius/image}}. Alternatively, just add the verbage to the description of the image; no-one else will use it anyway.
As for ownership, the pictures are now under the domain of the GNUFDL. Obviously, copyrighted to Blizzard. --User:Sky2042 (talk) 09:09, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
PS: It was the wordage; as if, no-one else was allowed to use the picture. Admittedly, I can't think of a usage for it, but ya' never know. --User:Sky2042 (talk) 09:11, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Once we get a consensus on what to do with Gem terminology we'll be needing some-bot to recategorize pages (and perhaps rename them too). You're handy with a bot; don't suppose I could rope you in to that? --Eirik Ratcatcher 19:28, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

You should add yourself to the project roster (just put Category:Zone category project members on your user page). Sky, we gotta figure out a better progression template overall, 'cause the value of tracking heroics/5-mans is only useful for the first couple weeks, if that. I'd like to see better in-game raid/progression tracking, but until then I figure this place is a good proving ground. Cheers!

The image was linked. I created the link with this edit, about 1 hour before you deleted it. It was, however, merely linked, not displayed with [[Image:...]], which is why you didn't see it on the image page ("What links here" would have revealed the link). I haven't saved it at all, I deleted it after uploading it. I'll have to recreate it, which is no biggie since it is a whackjob in terms of photoediting anyway. A Haunted History/Quest chain

You really think the current version looks better than the old version? Organizing it the way you did seems confusing to me, especially with the three neutral quests formatted differently than the rest of them. --Tiwuno 23:40, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Essentially. If you wish to clean them up though, I should forewarn you that the majority of those pages probably shouldn't exist, as the majority of them are not proper articles, nor are they quest chains of longer than 5+ chains, making them rather useless compared to having inline links on the quest pages. Why did you re-add Heroic Magister's Terrace to 10-man progression template?

It's a 5-man, same as every other heroic. Kadaan 20:10, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it has items of a high item level, but I don't believe a non-raid instance belongs in a progression list. Zul'aman has higher/equal item levels to SSC/TK, and definitely higher than Mag/Gruul, but is on the 10-man progression template instead of the 25-man. It's not about loot quality, it's about raid progression. Kadaan 17:20, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
I still strongly disagree that it belongs on a guild progression chart. It will most likely not be something run "as a guild" but in pugs, like all heroics now. Is there a way we can vote on it? The only reason it was brought to my attention was an officer in my guild complaining that it doesn't belong there, and I agree. Perhaps an individual "instances completed" checklist on a user page, but not for a guild. Kadaan 21:47, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Quest chain names

Just trying to keep it consistent with all the other quest chain pages. Infact, I was making the pages "Nothing But The Truth/Quest chain", till I was informed that they should be "Nothing But The Truth quest chain". And some questchains I have been putting the chain on the first quest, and linking to it from the other quests. So...I'm hearing 2-3 ways of how its supposed to be done, and seeing 2-3 ways of it being done. Is there actually a place on the wiki where it states the correct way of doing things? Cause I was trying to be consistent, and now I hear thats wrong... User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 03:17, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

From what I understood, the correct naming convention is "Nothing But The Truth quest chain", without the "Quest:" in front of it. I have had discussions about this with people before (don't remember who tho), because I, too, was confused. I looked and couldn't find anywhere which mentioned this. Perhaps we should have a discussion on the Village Pump and put the resolution into Help:Quest articles or something. --Jiyambi t || c 05:03, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
I have been using the form "XXX quest chain", where XXX is some descriptive name. Often, but not always, it has been the name of one of the quests. Sometimes, the name of the unifying object of the quest. The name of the first quest in the chain is seldom a descriptive choice, and my idea in the name is to make it readily identifiable.
OTOH, I (personally) have been leaving all "Quest:xxx/Quest chain" pages alone until I decide either 1) "this deserves to be a page of its own", 2) "this is still useful as a transclusion page" (wherein I generally remove the "quest chains" category), or 3) "this might as well be included bodily" (wherein I generally mark it for deletion).
Your own milage may vary. --Eirik Ratcatcher 19:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
I think it would be a good idea to make a page describing the standard way of making a quest chain page. Detailing the correct way to name the page and how to name the page, be it the name of the first quest or last quest, or something more descriptive of the quest. Cause I know sometimes that the chain page might already be made for some quests (but didn't get placed within certain quests) rather than being able to automatically know what its called you have to go through the other quests to figure it out, and thats partly due to no standard naming. Drek'thar-I disagree

I wanted to show how loathsome his actions had been. He is no redeemed lost lamb of God. He has been a true monster and this part of his history should not be forgotten.--K ) (talk) 18:26, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

The heck? I had previously stated what I was about to do, oh only a few days ago. Yes, on Drek'thar's article's very own talk page. No one bothered to answer. What I said was not, and by not I mean not at all, biased, as it is what Christie Golden mentions in her book Rise of the Horde, and I beg of you, how biased it is to say that he is a children murderer? No, it's a fact, not a point of view. And that he is a war criminal? How hard is it to acknowledge that a soldier that stalked and torn to shreds and burnt to ashes dozens of innocent civilians is a war criminal? It's not like he only followed orders, as the book states that he was more than happy to join the orcs in their savage slaughtering of the draenei. I beg your pardon, I was not saying that I disapprove of the mention that he holds himself responsible for what he did, Lord of the Clans explains it very clearly. But I do not appreciate that this part of his existence be ignored and hidden.--K ) (talk) 21:37, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
It is said that every single orc, apart from Durotan, that fought in the draenei wars, helped to kill and destroy all draenei individuals. It is said that Drek'thar himself encouraged all the Frostwolves to kill every single draenei, and was the first to do so; and Durotan, as Golden reports, has seen all orcs in battle charging and savagely murdering men, women and children. No, I'm not wanting to look for references about Ner'zhul and Durotan about that, because I know they didn't kill draenei children. Durotan made it his personal guideline and Ner'zhul didn't fight at all, staying in his tent and bowing to Kil'jaeden or crying to Gul'dan. But I wanted to insist on that fact because Drek'thar is alive and considered as a good guy. Forgetting about his crimes is like taking only what's shiny and leaving the rest on the dung pile, which is not a proper way to handle lore.
I know how specific the term of 'war criminal' can be, but we are here talking about people who attacked some civilians who hadn't injured them in any way. I know why Thrall would've forgiven Drek'thar for what he was, since they thought nothing could be done about that since the draenei were nearly extinct. But at the end of Rise of the Horde, Thrall learns that the draenei are back. His first reaction is not about trying to welcome them and apologize for his people, as he has tried to do with the humans several times. No, he only feared about how to handle the Horde now that the draenei were here to tell the Alliance about his people and their past doings. I believe a cohesion of the Horde is more important to Thrall than spreading the truth among his people and taking back his support from Drek'thar, who is clearly opposing the Alliance at the moment, hence the draenei.--K ) (talk) 22:52, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Have I finished the book yet? Of course I have. But it is night time here and I'm afraid I'm not enough in shape to get out of my bed and look for the appropriate page in the book. I don't exactly understand why you're speaking about Durotan now, he might have been the least vicious soldier among them. Durotan killed innocents, but did not kill children, which is my point. Drek'thar, on the other hand, had none of such moral restraints. I told you about Thrall because he is the one who keeps him as the chieftain of the Frostwolf Clan, letting a war criminal hold a high position in his wannabe redeemed Horde.--K ) (talk) 00:36, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

He isn't opposing the Draenei. There are no Draenei in Alterac. Besides I think the size of the whole conflict is exaggerated in WoW. Anyway every orc was probably hyperbole as I highly doubt Grandmother Geyah or what would become the Mag'har were involved. Zarnks 04:45, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm at my wit's end.

I am not sure what to do anymore. We have a player, Side85 on here, Undersky on the Altar of Storms realm forums, who insists on writing six or seven "LOL@" person posts a day on the forums, writing these weird comments about people. On this wiki, I was trying to capture some of our local color having a new section called "Forum Personalities". He's been erasing people's entries, scattering "Lol@nub" and whatnot on the descriptions. I talked to him on the realm forums, and now he believes he has a right to delete anything he wants since people have deleted his remarks. I have to check the site five times a day to figure out what stunt he has pulled. Has he erased the PVP section? Has he erased all the forum personality entries? Has he substituted all the Horde and Alliance guild website links to be replaced with links for gay porn? What should I do? I'm at my wits end.

Thank you both for doing the SpeedyDelete thing on the misnamed portions of Summoning the Charger quest chain. {{extrasuperspeedydelete}} of "ClassX builds"

Hiya. I noticed that you deleted the "ClassX builds" article I added in Category:Boilerplate_placeholders to cover the recent change I made to {{Classfooter}}. Apologies if I did something wrong - I stumbled across the ClassX placeholder articles when reviewing my edits, and thought I was doing the right thing by adding a new placeholder. I hope I didn't tread on any toes. :-) --User:Murph/Sig 06:16, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Yup, it was nearly a year ago! I got busy for quite a while, and hadn't been doing much with WoWWiki, other than browsing it, until recently.
Fair enough. I created it based on a (possibly wrong) assumption for the existence of the other ClassX articles in Category:Boilerplate_placeholders. I assumed that they were there to avoid red/broken links appearing at the bottom of Help:Ability_articles and [[Help:Talent articles]], in the {{Classfooter|<ClassX>}} at the bottom of both articles (originating in the /Preload sub-articles). I'll happily put it back, if you think that's the right thing to do, otherwise I'll leave it alone. --User:Murph/Sig 06:37, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Cats

I did it for less confusion as all cats were like this Item Screenshots, NPC Screenshots, Warcraft II Screenshots, Warcraft III Screenshots, and Zone Screenshots. Minus two, which had nothing in them anyway Mob screenshots and Object screenshots.

I figured whats the difference, they're only image categories, not article ones, but yea... rules be rules. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 20:53, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Summoning the Charger

Finally completed Summoning the Charger to my satisfaction. Would appreciate comments. A different page will have to describe the blood elf chain, and perhaps have cross-biguation between them. Delete notification

Re the deletion of my guild page without notification (which might sound harsh to bystanders, but I can understand how such things happen): Does the addition of a delete tag (eg. speedydelete) send a notification? As long as that happens, the newer MW feature isn't really needed. I don't know administratively how deletes are handled, so I'm not sure if there's a process somewhere I should be monitoring to get early warning. ScratchMonkey 02:13, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Charinsert dot vs. entity

Sky, you don't understand why entities exist. It isn't a browser issue, but an underlying OS rendering issue. Entities exist so browser makers can ensure standardized glyph rendering. Wiki charinsert may or may not take this into account, but from what I can tell it doesn't. I've seen this problem with apostrophe's mostly, but it does happen. --Gengar orange 22x22.png Fandyllic (talk · contr) 4:42 PM PST 23 May 2008

Assistance on quest pages

I'm looking to run through the pages referred to under Reinforcing Redridge quest chain, but I'm running into the problem that when the quests were originally created, the bot created a fairly brain-dead disambig page for the similarly named pages. I lack the rights to simply move the first of the paired quests over the disambig page, but that's essentially what I'd like to do: Move questxxxx (1) on top of the questxxxx disambig page, then add in the quest progression, quest chain links, etc.

First off, I don't care how annoyed you are, sign your posts. Second, Baggins is the one I rely on to handle RPG information, including most of what you're talking about. Third, Hakkar is not confirmed as an Old God or even one of their servants. All that exists are a collection of hints, rumors, and titular connections that can be explained away as metaphoric titles will be taken in a different context. Fourth, if something's race is unknown, but that being is an Eternal, then it is fine to put that as race, see Elune. Fifth, Hakkar's status is "killable". --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:06, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't know why you all even bother arguing with this kid. He's been banned from editing infoboxes by baggins in the first place. I continue to have my eye out for his edits.--SWM2448 20:52, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Not here to defend M1330, since his edits do get out of control.
However, he is right on "eternals are not a race" its a descriptor but not a race. Most of the Eternals are not even related and are of seperate species. Secondly old gods are actually listed under eternals in Shadows & Light, although the book is not able to go into any detail about them. It does cover their Elemental Lord minions however. Also yes Brann surmises that Hakkar is somehow connected to the Old Gods, generally speaking many of Brann's theories act as insight into Blizzard's design and story processes, so yes it is very possible that he is connected to the old gods. It is more than likely the reference to old gods and hakkar made in Lands of Conflict was intended to be a direct reference to the Old Gods as well, i.e. old gods of the trolls. Also note the Lands of Conflict told of Ula-tek who very much mirrored Hakkar and is described as an old god as well. So it seems very likely that the authors were connecting both to the Old Gods, and less likely anything else.
It would make no sense for Blizzard to change direction and it seems more than likely that Brann's later comments are actually a follow up to what was previously stated in Lands of Conflict. Dark Factions continues this connection as well, I think (i'll look into it).Baggins (talk) 19:29, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I never once said it the status of eternal was a race; only that it could be used as one. --Sky (t · c · w) 20:13, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I think it fits more as a status than a race.Baggins (talk) 23:10, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Whether or not it fits as a race, I don't think it fits best as a status, particularly when Hakkar is killable and Xavius is dead.
Sorry for taking up your usertalk, Sky. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 01:53, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Engineering Guide(s)

How shall I count the ways... Tinker's guide seems to be a rehash of Velgard's. Meanwhile, in addition to Tinker's Engineering guide, there is also Engineering/Engineering Guide, which (IMO) is much better written as an actual guide. Currently I'm taking Tinker's guide and turning it into a more of a FAQ sort of guide. But having discovered this third one just now... Well... need to reconsider what is needed, and how to get there. Because, after all, Engineering is supposed to be a big part of 'guide' too. I'm not crazy about how the non-wow content is getting squeegied onto the engineering page either, but not sure where to go with it. If not, will I have to Create A brand new Account with a brand new page? I hope not for that seems like an awful lot of hard work, to replace a page you moved.
