Marielis was born in Silvermoon, son to two reagent merchants. Both he and his family (well, not his uncle) survived the Scourge invasion, but it was then found that Marielis's parents had provided Dar'Khan Drathir with supplies. They were exiled, but their son was not.
The young Marielis then found work as the apprentice to a mage, who followed Kael'Thas. But when that mage decided to return to Quel'Thalas to help in the rebuilding of Silvermoon, Marielis also returned, and took up the mantle of a warlock, and started his training at Sunstrider Isle. The day he returned, he made a vow: to one day start the greatest corporation Silvermoon had ever seen.
