We have existed long before your precious titans walked among the stars, ever watching, ever waiting. Our influence goes far beyond your measly moral comprehension. We gave you the flesh that shapes your form. We turned your kind to our ranks. Our will exists to be served. To rule this pathetic rock and bend it's soul to the will of the void. What makes you think our rule would come to an end because of some upstart mortals? You want this planet? Then come. Try to take it from our grasp. But the Black Empire is rising. And we will enslave all of your kind. CThunPreHistory.jpg

Story

Old Gods 2.jpg

Neither side would be satisfied by the end of the fourth war. The horde was left abandoned by their leader, leaving them once more weakened by constant in faction fighting. Sylvanas's plans lay to ruin. Her war was for nothing as N'zoth's essence tore her to shreds, her soul forever the plaything of the void. Anduin, with the Alliance reeling from potential unrest, could only watch in horror as the war accomplished it's task; to bring about the resurgence of the Black Empire. With the Old God forces invading Azeroth, the Alliance and Horde venture forth into new territory put a stop to the approaching darkness, but success will not come so easily if they can not mend old wounds.

Important Characters

  • Xal'atath

The entity formally housed in the ritual dagger of the same name. Her history stretches far back to the Black Empire. She was used by a priest hero during the third invasion of the Burning Legion to protect Azeroth until she was used to siphon part of the corrupting energy from Sargeras's sword. She remained dorment until a foolish hero found her and granted her a physical form once again. She has since worked to bring the void's will upon Azeroth.

  • Nozdormu

Aspect of Time. Blessed by Aman'thul to watch over the many timeways of Azeroth, the once immortal dragon has remained reclusive since the demise of Deathwing. While his flight has done much to assist the heroes, Nozdormu has mostly been focused on trying to regain some of his former glory, believing it would be vital to save Azeroth. Coaxed by a familiar presence (especially to himself), his search has led him back to these ancient islands, for better or worse...

  • Alexstrazsa
Alexstrasza TCG.jpg

Aspect of Life. Blessed by Eonar to care for all life on Azeroth, the dragon queen has suffered many losses since losing her power, from being unable to lay eggs anymore, to losing her younger sister, Ysera, to watching some of her brood perish at the hands of the Deathlord. Promise of regaining her power and ensuring a future for the dragons has led her to return to the Dragon Islands where she must protect the Ruby Fields from the Old God's forces.

  • Kalecgos

Aspect of Magic. Kalec has been aspect far shorter than any of the others, having ascended to the position sometime after the death of the original aspect of magic, Malygos, only for him to lose the power shortly there after. Kalec assists his fellow aspects as they travel to regain their power, though he has little interest in the islands outside of a better source of energy for his dying brood, though the presence of the Old Gods in the Sapphire Archipelago may change his mind.

  • Ebonhorn

Elder of the Highmountain Tauren and the disguised form of the uncorrupted black dragon Ebyssian. He has taken it upon himself to act as the new aspect of earth. He has returned to the land once blessed by his father, encountering his savior from the old god's grasp.

  • Merithra

Daughter of Ysera, she has taken up her fallen mother's calling to protect Azeroth and the Emerald Dream. Her journey to the Emerald Woods has brought her face to face with someone she thought long lost and forgotten.

  • The Three

C'thun, Yogg'sarron, N'zoth. Though all defeated by the mortal heroes, their essences live on, having disappeared into the shadows of Ny'alotha. Transferring their cores to new humanoid forms, they continue their mission of corrupting Azeroth for the Void, commanding their armies to ravage the land.

  • The Elder

A figure who The Three bow down to. While weak and reletivly non threatening, he gives off an aura of dread. He taunts those who stand in the way of the Black Empire.

  • The Twilight Harbingers

The Shadow's Blade, The Drowned Listener, The Rage of Y'shaarj, The Warped Observer, The Profiteer, The Dark Huntress, The Eye of N'zoth. The Seven mysterious figures that have watched over the events unfurling across Azeroth and beyond for some time. They're identity remains unknown, but many if not all are familiar somehow...

  • Wrathion
Wrathion HS.jpg

The Black Prince. For some time he has remained relatively reclusive, searching for his own answers after his plans to save Azeroth have failed. Like the aspects, his search has lead him to the Dragon Islands. His fight against the old ones has only begun.

  • Magni Bronzebeard

The Speaker of Azeroth and former king of the dwarves. He remained out of the conflict between the Alliance and Horde after the Legion's defeat to tend to the planet's wounds with the help of champions of both sides. While much progress has been made since then, the old god presence has threatened to harm Azeroth once more.

  • Med'an

The son of Garrona and Medivh, he has been absent from much of Azeroth's history since stopping Cho'Gall's revival of C'thun. Having been traveling throughout the Nether and fighting the Legion's remnants, recent activities of the void have lead him back to Azeroth as the Old Gods become more active. His goal has turned to preparing the world soul for her grand destiny against the masters of darkness.

The Enemy

The old god's forces are vast and numerous. From the Twilight's Hammer Cult to the insidious Nightmare and beyond, the forces of the Black Empire have gathered to see to their rise once more.

The Twilight's Hammer

TwilightsHammer-BannerNew.png

  • Leader: The Shadow's Blade and The Drowned Listener

For many decades the Twilight's Hammer has watched over Azeroth, secretly influencing events in their masters favors. They were seemingly thrown into disarray after the fall of Deathwing, but have continued gathering strength in secret. While many splinter groups have formed since, some with a degree of success, others failing soon after forming, one large group, lead by the leader of the Twilight Harbingers, the Shadow's Blade and his second the Drowned Listener, has been watching from afar. Absorbing the fractured factions into one massive cult, they begin their work of bringing the end to Azeroth.

The Emerald Nightmare

Emerald Nightmare Un'goro.jpg

  • Leader: Nocturnous, the Fallen Son of Ysera

Twice before the Nightmare had seemingly been snuffed out, with Xavius's demise being the final nail in the coffin. However, as it has been said, the Rift of Aln is deep and holds many secrets. One such secret was a forgotten son of the late green dragon aspect, Ysera, who had been captured and twisted for centuries. As the new Nightmare lord, nay, the pure embodiment of the Nightmare, he leads the corruption into Azeroth once more.

The Aqir Swarm

Mantid.jpg

  • Leader: The Aqir Council

The Qiraji. The Nerubians. The Mantid. The Nymphin. These four insectoid races, descended from the ancient Aqir, have been the servents of the old gods for eons. Each swarm, lead by the paragons of their group, invades a different one of the Dragon Islands. Emperor Vek'linor commands the Qiraji over the Topaz Desert, forming new hives among the desert. Seer Ixit of the Nerubians sends his swarm out to the Sapphire Archepelago to drain the land of magic. Grand Empress Shek'zara orders Mantid in the Ruby Fields, razing the life from the sanctuary and encasing the grand tree in amber. Grand Visir Murkric of the Nymphin leads his swarm through the Emerald Woods, invading the dream to aid the nightmare's spread. All four swarms also assist the Twilight's Hammer in the Onyx Wastes.

Tortollan

An ancient race of humanoid Turtles, they travel the world searching for stories, ancient artifacts and treasures. With no real alegiance, various members have pledged themselves to both factions in hopes of creating their own legends.

"More trouble? Time to make it back to the water..."

The Dragon Islands

Temple in Ruby Fields

Long ago, after the dragon flights were raised, the titan keepers created a safe haven for the flights to keep watching over Azeroth. The aspects have long kept this land a secret, even from their own kind. The only constant inhabitants are the mythical Dragonborn, humanoid dragons that have tended to the lands of their flight and protected it form most invaders. No one expected Deathwing to give the secret to the Old Gods...

While the various islands remain relatively pristine, the old god forces have begun erecting structures across each. Shrines and temples devoted to the monstrous beasts surround great obelisks that begin draining the power of the titans from the land.

During your travels you will return to a small island known as Titan's Stand. This island acted as a safe zone for the keepers between fights against the black empire eons ago and stands as a watch point for them to observe all of Azeroth. The Alliance, Horde and Orders have made bases here along side the orders own bases spread out across the islands.

The island's native inhabitants, the Dragonborn, are sworn protectors of these lands. While they don't have the same power as their draconic anscestors, they are not burdened by the loss of power they experienced when they destroyed Deathwing. Across the islands, life unseen elsewhere on Azeroth flourishes, from the mighty Terra Drake, flightless, but feral, dragons that roam the lands, to the ferocious Sand Wyrms of the Topaz Desert.

Leveling Zones(118-130)

  • Ruby Fields

The western most island, covered in lush fields and abundant life blessed by Alexstraza eons ago. Here the Dragonborn have established their center of life, the Dragonblood temple, though they are weary of outsiders staying for too long. The old gods forces are focused fairly heavily here, from the mantid razing the land to the faceless, siphoning the life energy from the land.

  • Sapphire Archipelago

The northern most islands, located on a major layline nexus and once a single island. Malygos focused much of his time here bending the magics to his whim. Were it not for the old gods, it would be a paradise for the blue dragons to live out the rest of their lives. The Narubians and Twilight's hammer have begun to dig deep into the laylines to siphon off the wild magic.

  • Emerald Woods

The eastern most island. A wild forest that seeps in and out of the emerald dream for Ysera and the green dragons to venture between reality and the dream. The fallen aspect's spirit seems drawn to these woods, as Meritra chases after her for guidance. The Nymphin have begun using the portals for their master to awaken the nightmare once more and drive Azeroth into chaos.

  • Topaz Desert

The southern most island. Nozdormu gifted the sands of the desert with temporal properties, acting as a massive source of the sands of time. Rifts in time open and close, showing glimpses in to the past and future as well as other timeways. These rifts are constantly kept in check by the local Dragonborn, but the influx of time is often unstable. The infinite dragons have been making a new home here along side the Qiraji.

Max Level Zone

  • Onyx Wastes

The central island. The remains of the black dragon sanctuary chosen by Neltharion, it has been twisted and corrupted over many years unbeknownst to the outside world. Most of the remaining Dragonborn have fled to the safety of other islands, while those that did not were twisted by the dark powers left behind. Wrathion and Ebonhorn have both come to this land for their own purposes. The Black Empire has called forth a massive temple of their own from beyond to corrupt and ravage the land.

Dungeons

Tree of Life (Leveling, Ruby Fields)

A grand tree in the center of the Fields, it stands as a testament of the work the Red Dragonflight has put forth. Deep within it's branches lies a source of great and powerful life energy that may restore Alexstraza to her former glory. But such energy is also a prize for the Old Gods and the Mantid to collect for themselves.

Leyline Center (Leveling, Sapphire Archipelago)

A cavern beneath the islands that delves deep in the Leyline nexus. Reality twists and bends as the raw arcane energy flows through the walls. Such raw arcane energy could give the blue dragonflight the power it needs to thrive once more. But the mana seeping through the veins of Azeroth can also greatly aid the old gods efforts as well, and this nexus may be the perfect place to tap into the power.

Dream of Azeroth (Leveling, Emerald Forest)

Deep within the great woods of the Dragon Islands lies a portal into the Emerald Dream. Reflections of modern Azeroth shimmer through the pathways as the remaints of the nightmare stir and twist the fabric of the dream once again. Snuffing the nightmare out here may bring a necessary reprieve before delving into the rift one last time.

Twist of Time (Leveling, Topaz Desert)

One of countless rifts of time that dot the Dessert sands. Held open by the Infinite Dragonflight, the world around it twists and turns as time fluctuates. Echos of the past are riled to hold the heroes back as they venture to stabilize the rift.

Death's Door (Max, Ruby Fields)

Deep beneath the Fields lies a crevasse hidden from most. Life energy leaks into the caverns, twisted into unholy energy. From the depths undead monstrosities rise up and threaten the sanctuary above. Should the abominations be let free to do as they please, the Ruby Fields may be razed by another force working against the Red Dragons.

Skies of Arcane (Max, Sapphire Archipelago)

Far above the Sapphire Archipelago, shrouded in a mysterious energy unknown to even the most well versed mage or scholar, a series of floating islands dots the sky. Like a thick mist, the mystical energy clouds the land, granting inhabitants great power. A civilization may have once thrived among these islands, but have since been lost to time, though their remains still linger in the air and ground.

Shel'kaaxth (Max, Emerald Forest)

Appearing from nowhere at the edge of the woods, suddenly and with no warning, a grand temple of the black empire has arisen from beyond reality. From the temple, the corrupting forces have begun to seep into the land, empowering the nightmare and bringing forth dark forces. Should it be left standing, the Emerald Forest will soon twist into a bleak nightmare of itself.

Galakrond (Max, Topaz Desert)

In the ancient past, long before the sundering, before dragons took their modern form, ferocious proto dragons dotted the skies of northern Azeroth. Of them, a great and terrible abomination, leaking dark energy, terrorized the smaller dragonkin. While long slain, the infinite dragonflight seem fixated on bringing Galkarond into the modern world, wreaking havoc on all those who stand in his way.

Shuul'wah Uulwi (Mythic Only, Onyx Wastes)

Deep below the Onyx Wastes, in a cavern carved by the Earthwarder many eons ago, a dark twisted echo of history screams from the deepest depths of the land. Saturated in the old god's own power, this old abandoned lair of the once proud black dragon aspect has turned into the old god's starting point for their invasion of the sacred islands.

Strand of the Ancients (Mythic Only)

An ancient titan fortress once located by Northrend. The treasure of the Titans drew the attention of both the Alliance and the Horde, fighting endlessly over control over the area. Soon after Sargeras plunged his sword into the world, the ruins vanished from sight. Having reappeared close to Titan's stand, the relic within has drawn the attention of the Old Gods and their allies.

Raids

Rift of Aln

(7 Bosses, 3 LFR Wings)

The Rift

The deepest part of the Emerald Dream. While Xavius had been slain here and the nightmare seemingly put down for good, the resurgence of the Black Empire has reawakened the taint deep within the rift.

  • Bosses
    • Xavius, Twisted Marionette

-The former lord of Nightmare slain by the Champions of Azeroth in the shallows of the rift. Though his body decayed, the dark Druid Decus Blooden has since twisted the skeletal remains into his twisted puppet.

    • Commander Xyxrix

-The faceless commander watching over the Rift. Xyxrix seeks favor from his masters, commanding the nightmare army to break Azeroth.

    • Last Eye of N'zoth

-Deep in the rift, N'zoth's reach still remains to twist and bend the titan's soul to the void's will. While N'zoth's physical form has since been discarded, the eye still remains, keeping a watch over his work.

    • Ysera, Echo of the Dream

-The aspect of the green dragon flight, Ysera the Dreamer. Slain by the nightmare as the Legion invaded, her spirit lives on in the dream, watching over her flight. Her essence has become a target for the newly reawakened nighmare, hoping to twist her to their favor once again.

    • Nightmares of the Past

-For years, the Champions of Azeroth have fought and conquered many evils to protect their home and the world soul within the planet. As they venture deeper into the nightmare's core, the horrors of the past come to life.

    • Decus Blooden, Fallen Druid

-Once a noble Gilnean, the druid Decus Blooden fell beneath the waves defending the world from the maddness of Deathwing's rage. Thought lost, N'zoth whispered deep into his mind, driving him mad and leading him deep into the Nightmare's clutches.

    • Nocturnous, Nightmare Incarnate

-Long ago, Nocturnous was a staunch defender of his mother's work, tirelessly exploring the vast realm of the dream and snuffing out impurities. However it wasn't long before the seeds that would become the nightmare would drag him deep into it's clutches. Infused with the raw energy of the void, Nocturnous became the nightmare itself, only to be forced into the rift where he has planted the seeds of his revenge...

Tower of Fate

(3 Bosses, 1 LFR Wing)

A seemingly infinite tower standing tall in the center of Titan's Stand, the sword of Sargeras plunged into Azeroth has driven the defense systems mad. If not deactivated, even the one safe zone on the Islands may be rendered inhospitable.

  • Bosses
    • General Z'yzz

-A C'thrax commander sent to invade the tower and bring it down for his masters, Z'yzz has managed to take control of several of the defenses at the base for himself. If left alone, the corruption he spreads could begin to climb.

    • Lift to the Heavens

-The tower's systems haywire, the very elevator to the top has become hostile to all that enter.

    • Data of the Watchers

-The Constellar Algalon continues to watch over Azeroth and her heroes from the pinnacle of the tower. Though the Sword of Sargeras continues to throw the systems out of order, he has managed to isolate the corruption into physical holograms of the various titan watchers. Should they be defeated, the tower can reboot and continue its purpose.

Qor'Pahg

(10 bosses, 4 LFR Wings)

A massive temple of the black empire summoned from a dark realm to taint and corrupt Azeroth. Within the fortress lies twisted monstrosities and terrible powers that threaten to plauge the world. If not destroyed, Azeroth is doomed to fall into the hands of the old gods.

  • Bosses
    • Aquir Army

-Quiraji of C'thun. Narubians of Yogg'sarron. Nymphin of N'zoth. Mantid of Y'shaarj. The four aquir races, often enslaved by their masters to do their work, stand proud to defend Qor'Pahg from intruders. As the first line of defense, they will fight to prove their worth.

    • Chromatic Mother Huia

-Recovered from the debris of Nefarian's lair, Huia was one of the first Chromatic Dragons experimented on. While a failure, her spawn have lead to slightly more successful dragons, making her a valuable asset to the Twilight's Hammer.

    • The Dark Huntress

-Sira Moonwarden. Once a stout warden of the Night elves and a crucial force against the Legion, her faith in her goddess and all of Azeroth fell upon her death and resurrection. Since the Darkshore was retaken by the Alliance she has been missing, having been taken in by the Hammer and her views further twisted.

    • Visions of Madness

-Within the temple, a trap lays. C'thun, unleashing his power, brings the heroes into a realm of insanity of his creation to toy with them as they attempt to proceed further into the fortress.

    • Left and Right

-Wrathion's two most trusted body guards. For years he has had them by his side as he worked behind the scenes, but in his haste and arrogance has failed to notice that they were watching him.

    • Dark Priest Arthur

-Once a devout priest in the holy cathedral in Stormwind, he has since followed in the footsteps of two previous bisohps. Twisting his form into a dark k'thir, Arthur has abandoned his humanity to serve the dark whispers of the old ones.

    • Well of Shadows

-A great crucible of dark and twisted energy. Fueled by pure entropy, the dark powers within lash out at all who dare to stand against it. As the source of corruption coming from the temple, it's destruction is mandatory.

    • Council of Twisted Elements

-The Elemental lords have since long abandoned the Black Empire of have been slain because of their alliance. Four upstart lords, having sworn their allegiance to the Old gods once more, have been promised to take over as the new lords of their realms should the Black Empire rise again.

    • Images of the Old Ones

-While C'thun, Yogg Saron and N'zoth plot and scheme elsewhere beyond the realm of mortals, they have left behind effigies to watch over the temple. These three avatars, taking the form of their monstrous visages, wait at the apex of the temple for the heroes who dare defy their will.

    • The Rage of Y'shaarj

-Garrosh Hellscream, former Warchief of the Horde and the only mortal known to channel the power of an Old God for his own use. His death on the alternate Dreanor was thought to be the end of him, but the Hammer simply went through the portal and brought him back for their own purposes. Fueled by rage and the nurtured remnant of Y'shaarj, he is a valued asset to the Twilight's Hammer.

New Specializations

As you traveled through Azeroth, new ways of utilizing your powers have opened up to you. These new specializations offer more variety in how you defend Azeroth. In addition, new artifacts for these specs will be available, with their own quests, to players going through Legion content (as well as those who have gone through it already). These artifacts will have access to all forms except Hidden and Challenge appearance sets.

Death Knight: Corruption

Spell shadow deathcoil.png

  • Spell Caster DPS
  • Primary Stat: Intellect
  • Preferred Weapons: One handed Swords, Axes, and Maces with an Offhand.

A dark sorcerer of death who corrupts and plagues his/her foes with burning curses.

The teachings of Teron Gorefiend have long been forgotten by modern Death Knights. His secrets have however recently resurfaced. Some had used these powers against the legion and have begun sharing their findings with their brethren.

  • Artifact: Grimoire of the Damned (Off hand with 1h Sword, Gorefiend's Curse)

As Gorefiend tormented the Alliance, he kept notes on the powers and secrets he discovered of his new affliction, even from his master, Gul'dan. When Illidan invited him to the Black Temple, he brought with him an armory of cursed weapons, hidden deep in the temple. At the center sat his Grimoire of dark knowledge. Perhaps Akama would be willing to part with such dark artifacts.

Demon Hunter: Inquisition

Levelupicon-lfd.png

  • Spell Caster DPS
  • Primary Stat: Intellect
  • Preferred Weapons; Dual One Handed Weapons

Tormentor of Illidan, using demonic powers to torture his/her enemies into submission.

While most demon hunters were taught to use their physical abilities to fight the legion, some had turned to abusing fel magics for their own purposes. Taking the form of the dreaded inquisitor demons they take their name from, these Demon Hunters twist and torment their enemies into submission.

  • Artifact: The Inquisitor's Tools (Dual Warglaives, Domination and Submission)

A pair of warglaives forged by the Illidari to torment their demon prisoners, temporally severing their connection to the nether as they howl in pain. Illidan, not wanting to loose such important tools to the adventurers that would invade the Black Temple soon, sent one of his hunters to Mardun with them. The hunter has not been seen in some time.

Hunter: Beast Guardian

Spell nature unyeildingstamina.png

  • Tank
  • Primary Stat: Agility
  • Preferred Weapons: Bows, Crossbows, Guns

Guardian of Nature that commands his/her pet to defend his/her allies from enemies.

While many hunters would use their pets to fight along side them, some would use them to protect their allies, commanding them to shield the wounded. While originally a form of Beast Mastery, the style has since evolved into it's own fighting technique.

  • Artifact: Echos of the Primals (Crossbow)

In times long forgotten, ancient Dreanor was taken over by a great force of nature called the Evergrowth. This force would have enveloped the entirety of Dreanor had Aggrimar not arrived and created the Breakers to counter the growth. Millennia have passed and with the destruction of the orc homeworld, next to no remnants of the primals remain on Outland. Rumors have surfaced lately that something may still pulse with energy deep in Blade's Edge.

Mage: Timeweaving

Spell mage altertime.png

  • Healer
  • Primary Stat: Intellect
  • Preferred Weapons: Staff, or One handed weapon with an off hand.

A magus who studies the ebb and flow of time, using his/her research to reverse the wounds of his/her allies.

Time is a particularly tricky school of magic, even for the most dedicated of scholars in the Kirin'tor. The only one outside of the bronze dragons to employ such mastery of time was the former Grand Magistrix of the Nightborne, Elesande. Her research into the school had been recently found, granting access to a new way of healing.

  • Artifact:Sands of Time (Offhand with Dagger main hand, Fang of Nozdormu)

The sands of time have served the bronze dragonfilight for many eons, they have become a target of the Burning Legion in hopes of messing with the flow of time on Azeroth. It is up to the bronze dragons and their allies to defend the sands before they fall into the wrong hands.

Monk: Mistdancer

Monk stance redcrane.png

  • Healer
  • Primary Stat: Intellect
  • Preferred Weapons: Dual One Handed Weapons

Disciple of Chi-Ji that mixes his/her martial arts with chi, moving as though dancing as he/she fights and aids allies simultaneously.

Chi-Ji's personal style of healing was not as common as Yu'lon's as it was focused on not only aiding allies but also fighting enemies. The teachings were nearly lost in the legion invasion, but many of the sacred teachings have been preserved and remastered since.

  • Artifact: Feathers of the Red Crane (Fist Weapons)

As with most birds, the great Chi-Ji would molt his feathers from time to time. The most lustrous of these would be gathered and adorned onto a pair of bladed fans. They have stood the test of time as a symbol of the order of the red crane. Recently, with the war in Pandaria causing eruptions of sha, the fans have been tainted with despair. The order has been working since then to cleanse the fans, and are on the verge of doing so, just as the legion approaches...

Shaman: Earthen

Spell nature earthshock.png

  • Tank
  • Primary Stat: Agility
  • Preferred Weapons: Staff, or One Handed Weapon with a Shield.

Elementalist who infuses his/herself with the power of the earth to defend his/her allies.

While the element of earth has always been used offensively by the Earthen Ring, defensive techniques were relatively rare. However, as many battles waged against Azeroth's foes, many Shamen have begun to use these techniques to defend their allies and protect their homes, often infusing themselves with stone to stand in the front line with their plate wearing friends.

  • Artifact: Grave of the Earth Princess (Shield paired with a 1h mace, Zaetar's Gift)

Princess Theradras, daughter of the Earthmother Therazane, had fallen at the hands of the mortal adventurers years ago. Though deceased, the grave stone placed at her fall has since absorbed the energy of the earth, making it a target for the Burning Legion.

Warrior: Gladiator

Spell warrior gladiatorstance.png

  • Melee DPS
  • Primary Stat: Strength
  • Preferred Weapons: One handed weapon with a Shield

A brutal pit fighter armed with a weapon and shield that aggressively attacks his/her foes.

The fight against the Iron Horde had brought many warriors to the arena of Highmaul. Though much of the fighting was against the ogres and orcs in the city, some warriors decided to use their shields not to defend, but to fight back and brutally harm enemies. These techniques were forgotten somewhat when the Legion attacked, but after much time refining their skills, several warriors have brought it back into light.

  • Artifact: Trophy of the Arena (1h sword and Shield)

Highmaul once held great gladiatorial events for amusement, offering slaves freedom as a reward. To prevent this, they had a master gladiator waiting at the end, wielding these enchanted weapons to prevent them from earning their reward. Kargath, upon his escape, stole the sword and shield and hid them away to prevent any orc in the future from being subject to the same torment. It is assumed they survived the destruction of Dreanor and are still hidden away.

New Class Race Combinations

To fight the old gods, many of Azeroth's people have taken up new skills that they've never considered before.

Tools of the Trade: Professions in Rise of the Black Empire

During Battle for Azeroth you may remember coming across a new tool for your profession. These tools will be moved forward along side the Unerlight Angler (and for those who never got theirs there will be a simple quest chain to obtain one for yourself) as well as new ones for gathering and secondary proffesions (aside from fishing). These tools will be integral to your profession and will allow you access to many new abilities to aid you in your fight against the Black empire. As you level your profession, you can gain new abilities similarly to your weapon, from new buffs and abilities for crafting as well as personal armor upgrades that can be added. You can undergo quests to gain recepies like in Legion as well as get new ranks, however only through gaining experience with your tool can you unlock rank 3 as well as these new features.

Herbalism: Shovel of the Grove

Made from a root of the world tree, this shovel enchants the ground as it digs. Those who wield it and attune to it will be able to dig up many more herbs than just picking them off the ground normally.

Mining: Ironhorn's Pickax

The legendary Rethu Ironhorn was a master of mining the earth. His pickax has been lost for generations, but is said to share the experience and wisdom of the tauren, including the ability to shake the earth itself for ore.

Skinning: The Blind Carver

An old legend tells of a blind man who could skin an animal perfectly just by feeling the contours of an animal's body. With a single cut he could make a wolfskin rug. Such techniques are said to only have been passed down to his knife.

Cooking: Ironpaw's Gilded Cooking Essentials

Cooking equipment forged from the finest Living Steel and infused with the secrets of the Ironpaw chefs, the Ironpaw family only has these made three times in the past. If you can prove your worth, you may be able to gain the knowledge passed down from the generations.

Archaeology: Brann's Book of Exploration

Brann Bronzebeard, one of the greatest archaeologists and explorers known to Azeroth. He has documented his secrets in his journal written in magical ink that only those who truly appreciate history and preservation will be able to learn from it.

Accessories

Your character's appearance should be very personal, a reflection of who you are or an RP character you enjoy playing as. As such, it's important to be able to customize the appearance as much as possible. Over the years many steps have been added to do so; from the Barbershop to Transmogrification. Now more options will be available with new Accessory slots added to your character sheet.

Adding to Armor

Accessories are meant to accent your transmog like never before. You can add many different little items to your appearance through your character sheet. You'll start off with one slot to add something extra to, do various tasks on the Dragon Islands, three more will open up to not just your main character, but all your alts as well. Accessories can be placed in any slot, but you may only have on per location. Each accessory has a place where it can go, be it on your head, neck, chest, back, arm or leg. Of course, with arms and legs you can chose to put them on the right left or both. In addition, many accessories can be dyed in various colors. You start with Red, Blue, Green, Black, and White dyes but can unlock and find many more colors as you adventure that can be shared with all your alts.

Fashion Collection

A new collection tab is available to collect accessories you gather across your characters. This, as with anything in the collections window, allows you to share the accessories you gather with all your characters so you won't miss out on anything. Ribbons, vials, scarves, masks, and many more can be found from exploring and gathering across many sources like furniture mentioned above. Dungeons and Raids, both new and old, may drop appropriately themed accents, while an achievement, old or new as well, may grant a related accessory. Many new shops across Azeroth will sell them as well, and old reputation vendors may have additional stock.

Player Housing

Even Adventurers deserve a place to rest. While inns have served the heroes of Azeroth fine in the past, many may seek out their own homes, building a place to settle down between fighting.

It'll be better than this.

Obtaining your Home

When you reach level 40, you will get a letter in the mail informing you of a crack that has opened up in a mountain right outside your faction capital. Make your way over and you can find someone waiting for you, willing to sell the land to a wayward adventurer... for the right price. If you give them 15,000 gold, they will leave this empty space to you, with a draft board and special hearthstone for free! Now you can get to making this new space your own.

Building your new House

First thing's first; you need materials. On the down side, you probably don't have them right now. On the plus side, they're simple to get. Every enemy you face will drop Housing Resources in addition to any gold you obtain. In addition, any extra currencies you have obtained over your adventure can be traded in at your faction's capitol for an appropriate amount of housing resources. With the new resources at hand it's time to set up your house.

Your draft board will let you do a variety of things. Most importantly is placing buildings. You have a variety of building options to chose from, including various building styles you've seen before and some new ones for your homestead. These buildings, though pre-made, can be placed anywhere on your plot and multiple can be placed as well, as long as you have the right amount of resources to spend. You can make a small town or simply place a barracks if you so choose.

In addition, you may decide to change the surroundings to better fit your preferences or theme. Green grass not your style? How about ice? Or tiles? The skybox looking to bright and cheery? You can replace it with the Icecrown one if you desire. You can also add decorations and furniture from the new collection tab from your draft board.

Decorating

A new Home Tab is added to the Collections window. Here you can view all collected furniture and decorations you have obtained across Azeroth. While you do start off with some basic options, you may find you desire more unique items. These can be obtained from many sources. While new raids, dungeons, reputation vendors, and even achievements may grant you furniture, even old sources may have new stock to pick out. It is worth exploring to find these new items as you never know what you may find.

Generally speaking, raid clear achievements will grant you a trophy to hang up on your wall and tell the world what you have done. Onyxia's head could be mounted on your fireplace, or maybe Sulfuron can sit in your kitchen to remind you of your Firelands adventure. Even so, you may find you want to show off a set of armor or weapons you like. A mannequin for each race (that is poseable if you desire) and a weapon rack can be bought at the proper store. Outside you can set up pet houses and stable stalls to show off pets and mounts respectively. Even a pet arena can be set up where you can put pets to battle visitors. While you can decorate and design your living space as you desire, many amenities can not be placed, like a bank stall or auction house. After all, there needs to be some reason to go to the city.

Visitors

Like your garrison, you can invite other players to hang out and admire your home. Simply select "Visit player's house" of the desired person in your party or raid while close to the home entrance. Players may also open their house to the public, where you can visit a sign outside the housing area to chose a home to visit.

Guild Bases

Technically a beta garrison, but similar idea visually.

While your guild has fought against many foes together, you never had a base to call your own and operate from. Now you will have access to a space entirely for your guild.

Obtaining a Base of Operations

By going to the Guild Store in any city, your Guild Master will be able to talk to a new NPC who will offer a space for your guild for 100,000 gold from your guild bank. While pricey, this space is customizable and comes in several shape options and will offer various resources for your guild to use. You can talk to them at any time to change the base layout for a small fee.

Setting up your Base

Initially your base will be a bit barren, but your Guild Master can set up amenities to use, such as repair stations, guild vendors, profession areas, or even a bar to just hang out in. In addition, there are several unique features. You can add special pet battles that members of the guild can customize to their liking and set up quest boards help your guild level up.

Perks of the Base

Your guild will now be able to level up by doing the stuff you do naturally. Your Guild Leader can spend guild talents to add new perks to the existing ones, such as cheaper transmogrification, faster group summoning, or a daily free repair. While you can obtain all these perks, the order in which you get them is up to the Guild Master.

Guild Master's Office

The guild master will have a few extra perks in setting up the base and decorating it. Trophies of raids your guild has completed can be desplayed on the walls, and your guild master can even decorate their office with some of the furniture they have obtained. The office also acts as the center from where your guild master can customize the set up of the guild. A request box can also be placed outside the office to request certain changes from members.

Hero's Weapons

You've obtained many weapons through your adventures. From simple armaments to legendary artifacts, these weapons have served you well as you fought your enemies, but they were never truly yours. It is time to make weapons you can truly call your own.

A call from Azeroth

Azeroth has made some great steps to recovery, but she still has a long way to go. But she is still thankful for your help. As a reward, Azeroth grants you a large piece of Azerite. This is the base for your weapon. You will mold your sword, staff, axe, dagger, or whatever you desire from this stone and from there it will serve you as you fight your greatest enemies.

Your Weapon, your Way

Your first task; what kind of weapon do you desire? Though yes, you will be limited by your class and specialization's needs, you still can choose what you want to wield. A mage may desire a staff or a sword with a tome. A frost death knight can wield a pair of swords, or pair an axe with a mace. These choices are yours to decide.

From there your weapon needs a form. New appearances will be avaliable for these weapons, with unique class options, race options, and even faction options. Or you can chose from any appearance in your collections tab. Mix and match artifact appearances, wield a special weapon design you had grown accustomed to. You can change these at will at the forge you will use in your new order hall. Guardian and Feral druids may also tie one of their artifact appearances, plus more that they can earn, to the weapon should they desire. You can also add an illusion effect on top of the weapon.

After that you give your weapon a name. While a single great sword will be called simply by it's title, you can give paired weapons a name not only for the pair, but for the individual weapon if you desire as well. After that are the secondary stats. You can chose the two stats you wish to attach to this weapon.

This is your weapon. It will serve you well from here into the future. You can create one for each specialization or use the same one for all of them.

Obtaining Power

Similar idea to Artifacts

Like Artifacts and the Heart of Azeroth before them, your weapon will start off weak but gain power as you adventure. Various sources will provide artifact power to your weapons as before, including Azerite. However, this is shared between all weapons, even newly created ones. This power will be used to grant traits similar to artifact weapons. Three golden traits can be unlocked as well, but unlike artifacts, you are able to choose between five powerful options at each stop. You can re choose these golden traits at your order hall should you desire to change them.

Relics also return, with two kinds being available. First are minor relics. These are fairly common and grant item levels and an additional secondary stat (though this bonus is generally small compared to the stats already attached to your weapon naturally). Some may have two stats divided in smaller iterations or even provide tertiary stats like leech and avoidance. The second are Major relics. These are class specific and offer in addition to item levels to your weapon a bonus ability. Relics are shared among all weapons, and it is up to you to decide if you want to simply focus on one specialization or set up your relics to be as general as possible.

Inherited Powers

On the bottom of your weapon's talent tree, you will find three additional empty slots. These can not be filled in from leveling up or gaining artifact power. You must find them. As you explore, you will find special items that can drop from various sources, such as enemies, bosses, emissary chests and so on. These items will lead you on a quest, finding weapons, ancient artifacts, and more that you will learn from. Each one will grant you a power that you may equip to your weapon. Returning the Axe of Cenarius for example may grant your weapon the weight of wood and the strength of steel, increasing it's haste and critical strike. Or you may encounter a scale of Yu-lon, who infuses her breath into your weapon to grant it great healing. These powers will enhance your weapon along side the talents. Many of them exist, and you can set out to collect them all. These powers are also bind on account, so your alts may use them as well and not be left behind.

There are limits to when you can use them however. In Player vs Player situations, they will deactivate, and they can not be used in Mythic + runs or in the current raid tier. Elsewhere they are free to use and can add flavor to your weapon as you desire.

Reputations

As with previous expansions, new reputation opportunities will open up to earn rewards as you quest through the Dragon Islands. Rewards are completely cosmetic as all profession recipes are learned through profession quests and leveling.

The New Orders

As the Alliance and Horde try to reorganize after the war, the class orders have come together once again. This time, each order has allied themselves with two others, forming a grander army. Players will start at friendly with their class's order, but will be able to earn reputation with the other three. These orders act as the primary reputations for each zone. As in Legion, you will return to your hall to send followers out on missions (in a fashion more simmilar to Legion than Battle For Azeroth or Warlords of Dreanor) and to rework your weapon. While you can still earn reputation through world quests, they will also offer daily quests in Titan's Stand. Should you reach exalted with another one of the orders, in addition to the standard reputation vendor rewards, you will gain the right to visit the order hall as well as access to unique quests for extra bonuses such as transmogrification options.

Assisting your order will be one third of your main campaign, along with mending wounds between the Alliance and Horde as well as the main fight against the resurgence of the Black Empire. Progressing through your order's quest line will eventually unlock Strand of the Ancients as well as provide more followers for your mission table and other cosmetic rewards. Finishing your order's main quest will award you a cosmetic armor set and weapons to use as you please. You can earn the other order armor sets by reaching exalted with them in addition to a new mount.

Defenders of Azeroth

Hunter Crest.png Rogue Crest.png Warrior Crest.png

  • Classes: HunterHunter, RogueRogue, WarriorWarrior
  • Hall: Halls of Valor

The old god's moments had not gone unnoticed by the Valarjar, the Uncrowned, or the Unseen Path. The three orders descended upon the Broken islands to eliminate the passing Mantid swarm. Though their target escaped, the three orders agreed the best coarse of action was to form an alliance, with Odyn uprooting the Halls of Valor to the clouds above the Dragon Islands to use as a base. They have located the Mantid in the Ruby Fields, hoping to make up for their failure to eliminate them before. A new proto drake mount is waiting for those who assist them.

Conclave of Magic

Mage Crest.png Priest Crest.png Warlock Crest.png

  • Classes: MageMage, PriestPriest, WarlockWarlock
  • Hall: Dalaran

The Tirisgarde continued to monitor the world, even as the war between the Alliance and Horde raged on. With the resurgence of the old gods, they turned to the two other orders that have had any exposure to the void; the Council of the Black Harvest and Conclave. Combining their magical resources, they have begun research into the secrets of the old gods from Dalaran having warped it close to the north side of the islands. As is natural, they have been drawn the the laylines in the Sapphire Archipelago along side the Blue Dragonflight. Aiding this magical order will let you call upon a great mana wyrm as a new mount.

Guardians of Nature

Druid Crest.png Pandaren Crest.png Shaman Crest.png

  • Classes: DruidDruid, MonkMonk, ShamanShaman
  • Hall: Temple of the Five Dawns

The Cenarion Circle and Earthen Ring worked hard to heal Azeroth, forging a strong bond that would extend to their next adventure. While traveling to the Dragon Islands, they were assaulted by the forces of the old gods only to be saved by the Order of the Broken Temple on the Wandering Island. Together, they established a new order on the back of Shen-zin Su who has moved close to the islands. As per request of the Cenarion Circle, they have chose to focus on the Emerald Forest and quell the reemerging nightmare. A special Cloud Serpent waits for those who are willing to assist.

The New Ashen Verdict

Death Knight Crest.png Demon Hunter Crest.png Paladin Crest.png

  • Classes: DeathKnightDeath Knight, DemonHunterDemon Hunter, PaladinPaladin
  • Hall: Acherus and Fel Hammer

Desperate times have caused the Ebon Blade to call upon the Silver Hand for assistance. Even though the two have had recent bloodshed, the fight to protect Azeroth would prove more important than their past feuds. The Illidari, seeing the similarities between them and the Death Knights, would join in as well even if the Paladins seem weary. The troubling signs of the Infinite Dragons have caught their attention in the Topaz Desert. The Ebon Blade has moved the Acherus close to the islands with the Fel Hammer warped in close by, connected by a bridge. The order has tamed and armored a frost wyrm for those willing to give aid.

Healing Wounds: Fallout of the Blood War

Alliance Crest.png Horde Crest.png

The fall out of the last war over the blood of Azeroth has left both factions reeling. The leaders of the Alliance and Horde realize that their feud has to be put aside for good for the sake of Azeroth lest their fighting cause more damage that is potentially irreversible. But with wounds that go deep from decades of battle, they won't heal very easily.

Your mission is to assist the other faction in hopes to bring an end to the fighting. To move forward, you will work to build reputation with the opposing faction. Alliance players will work on the Horde Emissary faction, while Horde players will do the same with Alliance Emissary. You will start off untrusted with this faction. World and Daily Quests across the Dragon Islands will not appear for this faction until you reach neutral, which can be done by doing the first steps towards the campaign. As you gain reputation, you will work to solve lingering issues between the two factions, such as Teldrassil, the Internment camps, The Purge of Dalaran and the Undercity.

Reputation gains for this faction are slower than others. But should you reach exalted, you will gain several perks; first you can start using mounts that are exclusive to the other faction. Second you gain access to an emissary mode. Like war mode, you can turn this on in your faction capitol. By choosing to do so, you will have access to the other faction's cities as and can understand their base language, common or orcish. You will gain the ability to participate in any PvE activity with the other faction as you wish, even through group finder. However, all pvp options, even through group finder, will be deactivated as long as you have this mode on. In addition, you will still not be able to buy from faction exclusive reputation vendors or earn reputation with faction exclusive reputations.

Finally, reaching exalted will set your starting reputation on all alts to neutral as well as gaining 50% more reputation from sources, allowing them to jump into world and daily quests for the opposite faction and let them reach exalted quicker.

Other Reputations

Three additional reputations will be available at the start.

First is the Obsidian Escort. Wrathion's personal group will focus mainly in the Onyx Wastes. Like the order factions, reputation will manly be gained in their respective zone. However, like the Nightfallen in Legion, the reputation will push forward the quest chain in the area. Earning reputation will also unlock access to Shuul'wah Uulwi, and eventually reward you with a new black dragon mount among other rewards.

The remaining two reputations have quests spread out across the islands, not focusing in one area.Heroes of the World Soul is a new faction led by Magni. Quests for this faction will focus on continuing the efforts he started previously. As most ruptures have been closed, the quests themselves focus on killing any enemies still trying to abuse the remaining Azerite sources. Gaining reputation with this faction will earn you a variety of Azerite themed pets, a larger selection than previously, Diamond armor transmog, and an Azerite proto drake mount.

In addition there is The Dragonborn. The natives of the islands who have taken care of the sacred lands. They are weary of outsiders but will give you the opportunity to prove yourself to face the Old God threat. Several world quests will be available in each zone to earn reputation with them, as well as several daily quests available in Dragonblood Temple. Earning Exalted will grant you the opportunity to recruit them later on as well as other unique rewards.

Justice and Valor: Returning Currencies with New Uses

As you participate in dungeons, raids, certain world quests, paragon chests and other content, you will earn Justice and Valor points once again. These currencies can be used to upgrade your gear in two ways; Valorforging and Reforging. Until Qor'Pahg is released, all sources that would drop valor will only drop justice, which can be used to upgrade your gear from heroic and standard mythic dungeons as well as the first two raids. Valor will be available once Qor'Pahg and Mythic + dungeons are unlocked, and all gear from Qor'Pahg and Mythic + dungeons will use Valor to upgrade. When the next raid tier is released, all Qor'Pahg gear will use Justice and all currently owned valor points will convert to Justice.

Warforged, Titanforged, Valorforged

First off, warforged and titanforged gear is being reworked. This time, if a piece of gear is warforged, it is five item levels higher, while titanforged gear is only ten item levels higher. However, if your gear isn't titanforged, you can upgrade it using valor. By valorforging your gear, you can increase it to be equal to what it would be if it was warforged or titanforged, five levels at a time. Obviously, while a non forged piece can be upgraded twice, warforged gear can only be upgraded once and titanforged gear not at all. All pieces of gear can be reforged this way, including slotted relics. You can use justice or valor to do so depending on where the gear dropped.

Reforged

Reforging is returning as well. Using Justice or Valor (depending on the piece of gear) you can convert half of a secondary stat to one of the other secondary stats that is not available on that piece of gear. Additionally, by spending gold (regardless of gear), you can add a tertiary stat of your choosing to any gear without, or reforge a tertiary stat to one of your liking. You can not however add or change a gem slot or indestructible from any equipment and if a piece has rolled multiple tertiary stats you may only reforge one.

As another gear change, all Shoulders, Chestpeices, and Rings will have gem slots available automatically, though may roll with a second one as well alongside tertiary stats.

Shadows of Twilight: Patch X.1

As the Twilight's Hammer begins to lay siege to Azeroth for their dark masters once more, a new dawn rises as the heroes of Azeroth, aided by the new orders formed to protect the world, band together and fight back. As darkness sweeps across the planet, the heroes must light the way and conquer the shadows.

Twilight Invasions

Twilight's Hammer Banner.jpg

Like the Legion Assaults and Faction Invasions from previous expansions, the Twilight's Hammer will set out invasion spots periodically, adding new world quests to be completed and finished off with a quick scenario. Unlike previous invasions, though, these will not be on the Dragon Islands. Instead, the Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Northrend, and Pandaria will play host to these invasions. Two zones from each continent will periodically be invaded. Players of all levels can participate for rewards such as extra experience, though only players of level 130 will be able to finish the extra push against the Hammer to drive them out. Completing these will earn the players various rewards, such as armor, money, AP and rarely a pet or mount.

The following zones will be affected

  • Eastern Kingdoms;
    • Duskwood
    • Silverpine Forest
  • Kalimdor
    • Felwood
    • Feralas
  • Northrend
    • Borean Tundra
    • Grizzly Hills
  • Pandaria
    • Dread Wastes
    • Jade Forest

Allied Race: Dragonborn

Long lived guardians of the Dragon Isles, the Dragonborn people have watched over the ancient lands for millennia, watching empires rise and fall as they tended to the islands, sheltering them from the plights of Azeroth. Only the old gods, cunning and vile, have gotten past their guard thanks to the fallen aspect Deathwing. After seeing the heroes of the Alliance and Horde assist in keeping the corruption from spreading further, the ancient beings have pledged themselves to Azeroth's defense, sending their finest heroes to aid both factions.

How to Tame a Dragon(kin)

Primordial Drake HS.jpg

Hunters for years have encountered many feral dragon species, from the majestic cloud serpents to the ferocious proto-dragons. Now, with the aid of the dragonborn, they may finally learn how to tame these impressive beasts. Hunters of max level may embark on a quest chain to learn to tame several sepcies of dragonkin. While not all will be available (after all, taming a full grown wyrm is highly unlikely and they will probably yell at you for trying), Proto-Dragons, Cloud Serpents, Terra Drakes, Sand Wyrms and Fairie Dragons can be tamed by Beast Masters after this quest is finished.

Dragonborn hunters will not partake in this quest as they have this ability by default.

New Dungeon: Fallen Bastion

The Bastion of Twilight, the former base of the Twilight Hammer during the fallout of the Cataclysm, has remained empty for years. Recently, activity has seemed to resume, acting as a secondary base of operations where dark twisted experiments are preformed. If not stopped, new monstrosities of darkness could swarm Azeroth.

New Raid: The Spire of Twilight

(8 Bosses, 3 LFR Wings)

Off the shore of the Onyx Wastes, a giant spire of elementium rises from the ground, guarded by twilight dragons and other monstrosities of the Old Gods. Within it's halls the Twilight's Hammer plans their attacks and receives orders from their twisted masters. It is up to the heroes of Azeroth to put a stop to the dark cult once and for all.

  • Bosses
    • Dreadguard of the Hammer

-Many have succum to the Hammer's word. From all walks of life, they gathered to heed the Old Gods will. These two Warriors, the Orc Onda Blackshadow and the Human Steven Duskhand, have willingly given into the madness becomeing something far more deadly.

    • Chromatic Hatchery

-Though Huia was recently defeated at the hands of the champions, her clutch is still tended over and watched by the Twilight's Hammer. Eliminating the last of these eggs will ensure the Chromatic Dragonflight never rises agian.

    • Elementix, Living Elementium

-Summoned from the dark dephs of the spire, Elementix is the unnatural infusion of spirit into the Twilight's Hammer's favorite metal, Elementium. If not stopped, his nigh indestructible body can break through cities with little effort.

    • Nefarian, Eternal Rage

-Death didn't stop Nefarian once, it won't stop him twice. Now a raging spirit of pure hatred, the son of Deathwing continues to bring about his father and the old god's glorious reign.

    • Ultraxion's Revenge

-The ultimate Nether dragon. Felled at the hour of twilight, his corpse was never found. Having dragged back to the Hammer, they have worked hard to revive and improve the monstrosity of a beast. He now defends the outside of the spire from those attempting to climb it's ramparts.

    • Heart of Twilight

-A source of dark corruption gifted to the Hammer by Yogg'sarron, this great sphere grants those who worship it immense power at the cost of their sanity. The energy flowing from the heart could potentially twist even the most stable of minds if not stopped.

    • Chromatus

-Chromatic dragons. One of the dark projects of the Black dragonflight for the Old gods. The effort to combine the blood of all five major flights has been a total failure. Except for one. One success has been created, and has nearly devastated Wyrmrest once before. While previously locked away by the blue dragonflight, their continued decline has allowed the hammer to free and use Chromatus as a living weapon once more.

    • The Drowned Listener

-It might have been best for Sylvanas to leave him dead. In her anger at the loss at Dazzar'Alor, the Banshee Queen raised the once dead Derek Proudmoore in hopes to use him as a sleeper assassin against his mother and sister. No one knew in the time he had been drowned, his body lingering beneath the waves, another voice had been whispering in his ears, twisting his mind and soul for a darker plot.

New Reputation: New Dawn

The four orders come together at last to begin their push against the Black Empire starting with the Twilight's Hammer cult. A new base has been set up in Titan's Stand, where you will accept new daily quests that take you across the Dragon Islands. In addition, new world quests for this faction will begin to appear in each zone. Earning reputation with New Dawn will unlock new transmog options, pets, furnature, and eventually a Golden armored Blue Dragon mount.

The Healing Continues

While the wounds between the Alliance and Horde have been closing, many are still unsure of how the new alliance between the two factions will last. Heroes will get new quests to continue mending those wounds and helping bring the factions together. Upon completing this part of the campaign, you will gain access to quests in your embassy to unlock the allied races of the other faction. Even if you have done these before, completing them will earn you a special pet for aiding the opposing faction's new allies.

Draconic Pathfinder Part 2: Flying in the Dragon Isles

By Completing several invasions earning revered with New Dawn, and completing the Alliance and Horde campaign will earn you the right to traverse over the Dragon Islands with your flying mounts. In addition you will also earn a new mount to commemorate this achievement; a brand new Red Dragon mount clad in armor will be yours to ride.

The Curse of Rafaam: Archaeology Quest Line

Ok so timing isn't this guy's strong suit given the current Old God issues but you got to give him credit, he's taking charge of the situation like a boss.

Completing this excursion will earn you the right to a new transmog set ready for digging up the past and fighting off thieves and other authoritarian armies that might also be interested in artifacts, a few toys that may or may not resemble the artifacts you have been trying to save... or steal (difference is in how they're used!) , and a brand new dragon statue. That's also a mount!

Infinite: Patch X.2

Nozdormu's fall to the old gods, while not surprising, shook the bronze dragonflight. Practically leaderless with many turning to their former enemies in fear and desperation, Soridormi works to keep her flight together. As the Infinite dragons grow more and more numerious, time begins to tear around the edges of Topaz Desert. Only by going into the temporal flux can stability be restored.

New Exploration Zone: Temporal Flux

Within the rift opened along the shores of the Topaz Desert, a world of instability has formed. The Infinite Dragonflight has invaded this twisted world to change history to their design.

The landscape of this new zone shifts constantly. Each day one of several time frames will appear. Zin-Azshari at the pinical of the Night Elf Empire, Stormwind destroyed by Garrosh's True Horde, Silithus moments from being devastated by Sargeras, Azeroth burnt to a crisp after King Mechagon activated his ultimate weapon, Dragonblight devastated with Deathwing impaled on Wyrmrest Temple. Each timeline contains it's own set of world quests and daily quests to complete each time you enter. At the center of each of these events is a stable area where the Bronze Dragonflight has set up a base to explore. Far north, trailed off by floating rock and pathway, sits the entrance to the raid, split off from the current time frame.

New Reputation: Time Wardens

The Bronze Dragons, having watched over the time-ways of Azeroth for millennia, have come to this rift to prevent time from collapsing in on itself and destroying Azeroth. From the stable time rift they have formed in the center of the flux, they aid adventurers on their endeavors against the infinite dragons. Earning Reputation will eventually allow you to buy a Bronze Dragon mount. Reaching revered will also allow you to buy a bronze dragon scale, allowing your flying mounts to adapt to the chaotic timeways and take flight.

Like Nazjatar you will be able to get assistance from several bronze dragons in the zone to accompany you through the time ways. Chromie, Anachronos, or Zidormi will each be available to adventurers. You may choose one each day, and a few daily quests will be available to level them up. In addition to becoming stronger, they will provide you with extra cosmetic rewards as they gain ranks, including bronze dragon inspired weapon transmogs and a new time lost Terra drake.

Time Warped Equipment

As you travel through the flux, you will find special gear (you can also buy it with Infinite Dragon Scales from the Time Wardens). This gear has no secondary or tertiary stats when you use the token. Instead, three time warped slots will be available. By talking with Voidbinder Zorlan, you can infuse the gear with secondary stats as well as a special ability to use within the flux and raid. When given its full stats, you will then be able to further enhance the armor by upgrading its item level to be just below heroic raiding gear. Special effects from this forging can not be equipped more than once so consider your options. This gear may not be Valorforged or Reforged (as you are choosing your stats after all) but may roll with a socket.

New Raid: Race Agaisnt Time

(9 Bosses, 3 LFR Wings)

Murozond TCG.jpg

Murozond has traveled deep within the rift to the deepest reaches of the past and alternate timelines for an unknown task. It is up to the champions of Azeroth to go forth and stop him from completing his vial quest.

  • Bosses
    • Chronal Guarduan Tempux

-Once a bronze drakonid tasked with guarding the caverns of time, Tempux followed his aspect's call, twisting into the infinite brute you see before you.

    • Azshara, Fel Queen of Azeroth

-Sargeras's presence was enough to destroy the planet. Azeroth became nothing but floating debris scattered in the great dark. But as she was promised, Azshara would rule over the remains for all eternity. What was left was her dominion. And she had no regrets.

    • Frost Lich Jaina

- Trusting Arthas's decision in Stratholm was her first mistake. Though she did not enjoy it, burning the city was the only way to prevent the undead from spreading. Even as he traveled to Northrend she followed diligently until the end. From acquiring Frostmourne, to his ascension to the Frozen Throne, she remained by Arthas's side. The first of the new Death Knights, Jaina continues to serve her king now and forever.

    • Malfurion the Betrayer

-Illidan Stormrage, first Druid of the night elves, hunted his brother down for many years after the sundering. Malfurion would pay for his bargain with the Legion. Even if it meant his life.

    • Anger Wrath and Violence

-Shao-hao, free of fear, doubt and despair, traveled through Kun-lai summit to the Temple of the White Tiger. Here he demanded an army to fight against the incoming Legion. Xuen denied him, as he had yet to let go of the rage that filled his heart, the last of his burdens.

    • Time Twister Chronomi

-Years before the cataclysm, Chronomi was studying the time ways and came across her bitter future. Instead of resisting, she simply slinked away from the rest of the dragonflight and let herself become corrupted. For centuries of her perspective she has acted as a gateway to the timeways for the infinites.

    • The Chronicler

-We were going to meet eventually. You may have noticed the journal you have has been updated constantly as events go forward? I have kept track of your progress and the progress of many others like you. But as the infinite dragonflight has been acting awfully aggressively lately, I'm afraid I may be in danger. If you wish for my aid in the future, you must hurry.

    • Ageless Anomaly

-A storm gathers in the time ways. While generally harmless to the main time line, it draws ever closer as the infinite dragonflight meddles with the past. Now as time begins to break under pressure, an abomination of pure temporal energy emerges from the storm, ready to break reality under its might.

    • Murozond, The Twisted Observer

-Nozdormu tried to avoid his fate, only to fall into it at the hands of himself. Murozond, the leader of the infinite dragonflight, has been tasked to bring the old gods power from the past. Should he succeed, Azeroth's final hour may truly come to fruition.

New Dungeon: The Pleasure Palace

The Profiteer, none other than Trade Prince Gallywix, has been long profiting off of the wars and conflicts Azeroth has faced. Deep in his palace in Azshara he counts the riches he has made from tricking the world in to fighting for his true master's grand scheme. With his identity revealed, the heroes begin their attack on his mansion. But the gaudy goblin palace holds much, much darker secrets than a greedy trade prince.

Like Return to Karazhan and Operation: Mechagon before it, this dungeon is more of a five man miniature raid, sending you from the goblin city of Bilgewater Harbor into the depths of Gallywix's mansion.

  • Bosses
    • City Riot

-The small army parking up to Bilgewater Harbor has not gone unnoticed by it's people. Using this to his advantage, Gallywix has riled them up to slow down the heroes, giving him time to escape and maybe kill them before they show up.

    • Chief Engineer Boomcogg

-One of the architects of Bilgewater, Boomcogg has the city rigged with traps and gizmos to ward off invaders. While not the biggest Gallywix fan in the city, he is being payed well to keep things running.

    • Big Betsy

-The giant cannon sitting on top of Bilgewater Harbor. It's pointed directly at Orgirmmar and is primed to go off if you don't shut it down.

    • Chief Enforcer Druz

-Gallywix's right hand man and enforcer. This goblin will do anything for the Big G, even at the cost of his own life and sanity.

    • The Bouncer

-Gallywix isn't letting anyone into his palace, and neither is this hobgoblin.

    • Shadow Bruiser

-One of the top players of Footbomb, he was invited to the Pleasure Palace some time ago but hasn't been seen since. Gallywix has decided to turn him into one of his new... toys.

    • G.M.O.D. MK 2.0

-Since the first one was wrecked by the Gnome Leader Mechatorque, Gallywix has been working on a new improved version. This one has an escape pod!

    • Trade Prince Jastor Gallywix, The Profiteer

-Trade Prince of the Bilgewater Cartel. The one who introduced Sylvanas to Azerite. The greediest goblin in all of Azeroth. Gallywix has many less than stellar titles under his belt, all of which he is proud of, having worked to keep the war going on while the old gods played the Alliance and Horde. As long as the Twilight Hammer's still willing to pay for his services, he'll keep providing to his dying breath.

Empower Your Weapon: Azeroth Forged

Heart Forge2.jpg

Your weapon has continued to serve you as you have explored the dragon islands and beyond. Magni, Me'dan and Wrathion have called you back to the Heart Chamber to further empower your weapon with new abilities. In addition to giving you access to more traits to unlock (as well as another golden trait option to chose), your weapon will become Azeroth Forged. When taken to the Heart Forge, you can inscribe the minor traits from essences that you have obtained in Battle for Azeroth onto your weapon. Up to three of these traits can be chosen as you level your weapon. If you are missing any of these essences, Wrathion will give you quests to go out and find them for yourself, including ways to level them up to rank 3. In addition, new essences may be found, including a class and spec specific one, from the new content.

Azeroth Forged weapons also gain access to a azerite themed enchantment illusion that you may choose to apply to any weapon from here on out.

New Dungeon: Ruins of the Old Empire

Cultists have been seen gathering around this ancient city. It may be best to investigate before something terrible occurs.

Wares from the Nexus: A new vendor appears in the Darkmoon Faire

An odd traveler has set up shop deep in the woods of Darkmoon isle. His wares are rather odd and otherworldly. But for the right coin (or tickets, they seem to be more valuable here than gold) he may be willing to part with some of his gear.

Each month he will have different stock he has acquired from traveling through other worlds in this 'Nexus' he refers to. Rise of Ny'alotha: Patch X.3

Murozond escaped, returning to his masters in the present and presenting them their prize before vanishing into the timeways once more. The shadows begin to once more crawl across Azeroth as from the depths of realm of darkness rises a massive city once lost to the ages. Siphoning the power of the titans from the Dragon Isles, the great Ny'alotha returns to Azeroth.

New Exploration Zone: Ny'alotha

The massive temple city of the old gods. A great storm of shadow surrounds the complex, making flying normally impossible. In the center lies the entrance to the main temple. To the north, south east and south west are three shrines, each dedicated to one of The Three. The Orders have set up point of invasion at the south shore on a broken pathway into the city. Faceless and Aqir roam the cities, guarding precarious treasures and sacred towers and shrines. Several great towers channel energy into the main temple. It is unadvised to go near these towers alone when they are active...

New Reputation: Twilight's End

The orders have once again gathered to fight the Old God's forces, taking a final stand against the darkness. Reputation can be earned as usual by doing quests and other activities in Ny'alotha. Earning reputation will grant you access to toys, a baby Terra Drake pet, and a special Twilight Dragon mount. By reaching revered, you can purchase a special item, the Orb of Dawn, that will let you and all your other characters fly in Ny'alotha.

Champions of the Orders

As you explore Ny'alotha and combat the old gods forces, you can seek help from one of four champions, one provided from each order. Each day you can request the assistance of one and several quests will be available to level them up and eventually provide extra rewards.

Valeera Sanguinar from the Defenders of Azeroth, Calia Menethil from the Conclave of Magic, Muln Earthfury from the Guardians of Nature, and Darion Mograine from the New Ashen Verdict can be chosen to assist you in your exploration.

The Alliance and Horde will also provide additional reinforcements you can pickup at the base. You can have one follow you along side the champion you choose, though they aren't as specialized or powerful as said champion. These include Alliance Soldiers, Gunmen, Druids, and Mages and Horde Grunts, Shamen, Headhunters, and Warlocks.

New Dungeons: The Three Shrines

Three new dungeons are avaliable in Ny'alotha. These dungeons are shorter than others with only two bosses each, and do not have mythic + options. However, the final boss may drop an ensemble or illusion associating to the old god the shrine is associated with.

Shrine of Destruction

A shrine dedicated to C'thun. The Qiraj have sent their greatest commander to defend their sacred ground.

Shrine of Insanity

A shrine dedicated to Yogg'sarron. The Nerubian seers have gathered here to worship.

Shrine of Nightmares

A shrine dedicated to N'zoth. Nyphin have made a second home in the halls of the shrine.

Generals of Shadow

Occasionally one of the old gods will send their greatest champions out from the temple. These generals will appear at certain areas, channeling energy from the area. You are tasked with taking them out as fast as you can. These enemies have a lot of health and power, making them almost as powerful as a boss. Defeating them will reward you with Twilight Fragments and ocasionally Reputation Tokens and other rewards.

Dark Towers

Across Ny'alotha, dark towers channeling energy into the main temple dot the landscape. Each one is guarded by elite forces. Normally they are mostly inaccessible, but occasionally one will activate, channeling energy at a much higher rate. When this happens, heroes can venture into the tower to deactivate it. First they must break down the door, guarding the sappers positioned at the doors. The next step is to clear the tower out. Each floor has several enemies guarding the door to the next floor. At the top stands a powerful priest channeling energy into the tower. Defeating them will allow the heroes to deactivate the tower and claim rewards.

Order Gambits: Advanced Missions

Your followers have been gaining experience as they have fought against the old gods for and with you. Now, new advanced missions are available for them to partake in. These special missions mus be obtained by doing various activities in the dragon islands, including from emissary caches, dungeons, and the new activities in Ny'alotha. When you obtain an item or report, you will add the mission to your selection of current options and will be able to send your followers out to complete them. These missions however cap at 75% chance, have much more difficult obstacles to overcome, and may take a while to complete. If you fail, you will be able to restart after three days. Succeed, and you will get an item to start a challenging quest for rewards. Some may just be as simple as money or artifact power, but others may provide more lucrative rewards such as a void dragon mount or new transmog.

Breaking Limits: Your Weapon's Ultimate Ability

Your weapon by now has hit a new peak in its power. It is now time to harness that power to its full potential at the Heart Forge. Through the power you have collected, you can now channel that energy into an ultimate skill for your specialization. These skills will evolve further as you empower your weapon. Each spell also has a large cool down, so choosing the proper moment to pull off your attack is important.

New Raid: Temple of Ny'alotha

(12 Bosses, 4 LFR Wings)

Eons ago, the Black Empire ruled primordial Azeroth, bending the living creatures to their will. The center of this empire was the great Temple of Ny'alotha, home of the terrible Y'shaarkj. When the Titans ordered the land and imprisoned the three old gods, Ny'alotha disappeared from the physical realm into the shadows. Returned to Azeroth, the Temple sits as the main citadel of the old gods forces where they form their wicked plans to bend Azeroth to their will once more.

  • Bosses
    • Lady S'theno, The Eye of N'zoth

-The naga's deal with Illidan was never meant to be permanent. It was convenient for the old gods to sent their servants to assist the betrayer and deal with the threat that was the Burning Legion. That deal has since ended. Lady S'theno no longer serves Illidan. She serves her true master.

    • Voidbinder Lazul

-Lazul has wandered Azeroth for many years. Many more than a normal troll would likely be able to. She has told horror stories of the old gods, tales of insanity that dig deep into one's psyche to draw from their deepest fears. Maybe she's not a normal troll after all.

    • Gate of Maddness

-The very temple that the old gods call home seems to be alive in it's own way. The door guarding the inner sanctums itself refuses to open for any other than it's masters.

    • The World Breaker

-For millennia, Deathwing the Destroyer acted as the herald of the old god's destruction. His own death at the Maelstrom had put a stop to his rampage for the time, but his death would not be the end of his sentence. His soul bound to a new body, the World Breaker only sees hatred and anger.

    • Emperor Vek'linor

-After the fall of the previous emperors at the hands of the Heroes, Vek'linor took over, digging his Qiraji deeper into the sands of Silithus to wait for his master's return. While the sword of sargeras has stired his hive to life, Vek'linor continued to wait for the call of C'thun.

    • Seer Ixit

-Though once resistant to returning his people to the old god's servitude, the call of Yogg Sarron was too much for the new leader of the nerubians. Having chosen his path, he now must fight those who have aided him in the past to save his brethren from the Scourge.

    • Grand Empress Shek'zara

-Shortly after Shek'Zeer's death, the Mantid reformed and began raising the new empress to power. After searching for azerite for her old god masters, she has taken the heed of the three to lend her aid to their dark plans. Though still young, she has potential to surpass the empresses of the past.

    • Grand Vizier Mukric

-The Nymphin for millenia remained in hiding. Their master N'zoth having little use for them as he schemed with other sources. With the black empire's rise once more, the Nymphin and their leader, Mukruc, have appeared once again to their master's side.

    • Xal'atath

-Once the conciesness bound to a dark blade bearing her name, Xal'atath has witnessed the history of Azeroth first hand as she sacrificed many souls to the old gods. Since freeing herself from her blade and taking the body of a high elf she had killed, Xal'atath has continued her own plans to aid the Old Gods. Though thankful to the heroes for aiding her in her quest, she has no use of them any more.

    • The Shadow's Blade

-Stormwind's inelegance organization, SI:7 has acted as the king's personal guard for some time, watching over the events between the Alliance and Horde. It was the perfect place for the old gods to place a spy. Someone to watch the Alliance and Horde directly. Who better than the spymaster himself, Mathias Shaw?

    • The Three

-C'thun, Yogg Saron, N'zoth. These three old gods, once imprisoned by the titans in hopes of warding of corruption, have slowly broken free to continue in breaking Azeroth. Even though they have been slain at the hands of the heroes, their souls lived on and bound themselves to new bodies to continue their work. Should they succeed, Azeroth would fall into eternal darkness.

    • Y'Sharrj

-Doubt. Despair. Fear. Anger. Hatred. Violence. Pride. The seven headed one, rage unbound, the strongest of the old gods. Y'shaarj's name strikes fear even into the hearts of the other three. His power was so great that the titans had no choice but to remove him by force. His death was never final. Even his essence bound to his heart was only a piece of his rage. Having waited in Ny'alotha for eons, the other old gods have offered their souls to ensure he would be the one to bend Azeroth's soul in eternal darkness. Y'Shaarj.jpg
