Titanius is the sixth boss encounter within the Uldris raid. He patrols both ends of the bridge that serves as the only form of access that leads deeper into the Facility. He will crush any invader that attempts to challenge his might. He is an intense DPS Race. His defeat serves as the "halfway checkpoint" of the raid.

Background

The eternal protector Titanius serves the mighty Titans with impeccable loyalty. He only allows those related to the Titans into the Facility and anything affected by the Curse of Flesh will face his supreme wrath. He defends the Facility's iron walkway, never turning away from his task until the day he is defeated. Unfortunately, Watcher Tyr has granted this guardian strength equal to or even greater than that of the Ulduar watchers. Those wishing to tread further into Uldris will have to first get past this eternal guardian.

Abilities

Titanius goes berserk after 6 minutes.

  • Achievement dungeon ulduar77 25man.png Titan Orb Important —  Several Titanic Orbs hover above the Iron Bridge and move around during the fight against Titanius. Attacking these causes them to slowly fall onto the bridge. When they fall on the bridge, Titanic Power is bestowed upon the 3/5 (10/25) closest players within 8 yards of the orb, destroying the orb in the process. Titan Orbs take about 3-5 seconds to fall onto the bridge. There are a total of 15 orbs at the beginning of the encounter for all difficulties. Orbs respawn every 15 seconds up to a maximum of 15 Orbs for Raid Finder difficulty. Titan Orbs do not respawn on Normal or Heroic difficulty.
    • Spell holy rune.png Titanic Power —  When a Titan Orb falls on the Iron Bridge, they will grant the closest entities ancient power. The damage and healing of those entities are increased by 30% per stack. Lasts 45 seconds. After this effect ends, players cannot gain Titanic Power for another 45 seconds. Important If a Titan Orb falls on Titanius, he will gain the Titanic Power effect.

Titanius

Titanius assaults his enemies with the fury of the titans.

  • Spell nature chainlightning.png Storm Fists Tank Alert —  Titanius draws his inner strength forward, infusing him with lightning energy. Melee attacks cause an additional 275,000 (LFR: 137,500 /Heroic Difficulty: 550,000) Nature damage. Titanius gains 2 extra abilities while under Storm Fists. Lasts 30 seconds. 2 sec cast; 30 second-cooldown. Shares cooldown with Iron Fists. Heroic Difficulty Duration reduced to 15 seconds but damage done increased by 100%.
    • Spell nature lightningoverload.png Lightning Burst —  Titanius projects a beam of lightning and sends it towards a random target. Inflicts 200,000 (LFR: 100,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 400,000) Nature damage and causes the lightning to chain to a nearby target. Deals an additional 25% damage per jump. This ability continues to jump between players until there is no longer a valid target within 10 yards of the previous target. 8 second-cooldown.
    • Spell nature stormreach.png Thunder Arc Important —  Titanius releases a stray bolt of lightning that strikes at the target furthest from him. Deals 125,000 (LFR: 62,500 /Heroic Difficulty: 250,000) Nature damage and increases the Nature damage taken by the target by 500% for 20 seconds. 5 second cooldown.
  • Ability golemthunderclap.png Iron Fists Tank Alert —  Titanius draws his inner strength forward, granting him supreme strength. Physical damage done is increased by 100%. Titanius gains 2 extra abilities while under Iron Fists. Lasts 30 seconds. 2 sec cast; 30 second-cooldown. Shares cooldown with Storm Fists.
    • Ability warrior titansgrip.png Quaking Punch Healer Alert —  Titanius strikes the ground with force, dealing 160,000 (LFR: 80,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 320,000) Physical damage to all players and reduces Armor by 5% per stack for 12 seconds. 10 second-cooldown.
    • Ability warrior decisivestrike.png Destructive Strike Tank Alert —  With all his might, Titanius inflicts a massive blow to a tank specced player within melee range, causing 350,000 (LFR: 175,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 700,000) Physical damage. 3 sec cast; 4 second cooldown. Heroic Difficulty Instant cast; Will now cause the targeted player to take 100% increased damage from Destructive Strike for 5 seconds.
  • Warrior talent icon thunderstruck.png Thundering Shout Deadly —  Titanius lets loose a devastating shout that resonates throughout the Facility. Causes 750,000 (LFR: 375,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 1,000,000) Physical damage to all players, with the damage reduced based on distance from Titanius. Each time this ability is used, the direction(s) where it affects is increased. 4 sec cast; 60 second cooldown. First cast of this ability affects the front and back. Second cast affects the front, back and both sides. Subsequent casts after this affects everywhere around him. Heroic Difficulty Thundering Shout affects everywhere around him starting from the first cast of the ability.
  • Ability vehicle electrocharge.png Electricity Orb Heroic Difficulty Important —  Titanius conjures a ball of lightning at one end of the Iron Bridge. The ball will travel across the bridge towards the other end of the Bridge. If the orb comes into contact with Titanius, he gains Lightning Tendrils. If the orb comes into contact with players, any Titanic Power currently affecting them will be removed and the orb will apply Electric Infusion. If the orb hits players without Titanic Power, it will inflict 100,000 Nature damage every 0.5 seconds. The Electricity Orb will destroy any Titan Orbs that are close enough to the bridge. Electricity Orbs will travel in the opposite direction once it reaches one end of the bridge. 1.5 sec cast; 25 second cooldown. Up to 3 orbs can be active at any given time.
    • Spell nature lightning.png Lightning Tendrils Heroic Difficulty Healer Alert —  Colliding with the Electricity Orb causes lighting to dances about on the body of Titanius, causing him to deal 75,000 Nature damage to all players every second. Lasts 30 seconds. Prolonged contact with an orb causes this ability to deal 10% increased damage per stack.
    • Spell shaman staticshock.png Electric Infusion Heroic Difficulty Important —  Colliding with the Electricity Orb causes Titanic Power to fade from players. Following that effect, players become infused with storm power. The damage and healing done by all critical strikes are increased by 75% for 45 seconds. Players also deal an additional 25% damage as Nature damage with each attack.

Strategy

Start the pull near the bridge's center so all raid members have enough room to escape Thundering Shout's AoE. There are a total of 15 Titan Orbs at the start of the fight. Any ranged attack will cause them to fall onto the bridge. In order to beat the enrage timer, most (if not all) of the dps will need to get the Titanic Power buff from the orbs. Starting from the best dps, put them in "sub-groups" and have them stack up under a Titan Orb so that all of them gains the buff once it falls down. Be sure to avoid knocking any Titan orbs down when they're over the boss as he can gain the buff too which adds extra damage to the raid. Just wait until the orbs move to a clear spot.

Every 30 seconds, Titanius will cast either Storm Fists or Iron Fists, both of which will grant him 2 additional abilities. Storm Fists causes each melee attack to deal extra Nature damage. The damage dealt by the buff mixed with Titanius' melee attacks will require heavy healing. However, if healers have Titanic Power, that healing will be lightened up. While under Storm Fists, Titanius will use Lightning Burst that serves as a [Chain Lightning] but increases in damage with each additional target hit. Due to this, spreading out is key. He will also cast Thunder Arc that is used on the player that is farthest away from him. Thunder Arc will cause the target to take a substantial amount of Nature damage if they are hit by it again so to avoid this, a rotation will be needed each time Storm Fists is up. Due to Thunder Arc being on a 5 second cooldown and Storm Fists lasts 30 seconds, 6 players will need to rotate taking the Thunder Arc to prevent anyone from being killed.

Iron Fists causes Titanius to deal 100% more Physical damage. That includes the two abilities he gain while under this buff. Titanius will hit extremely hard with only his auto attacks so cooldowns will be needed to survive this 30-sec phase. He will use Destructive Strike which, after the 3-sec cast, will cause a heavy spike in damage on the tank. Without any cooldowns, the tank risks death following the attack by Titanius' melee swing. This ability is on a short cooldown so it will be used quite often during Iron Fists. Think of it as being an extremely buffed up version of Patchwerk's Hateful Strike. He will also use Quaking Punch which is an AoE attack that strikes the whole raid. It also reduces Armor by 5% per stack which adds to the constant pain the tanks will be going through while Iron Fists is active.

Every minute of the fight, Titanius begins to cast Thundering Shout. This will one-shot anyone it hits. Damage is reduced the further you are from the boss but the attack is directional at first. This gives players enough time to move out of the direction of the AoE. The first Thundering Shout will be directed behind and in front of him. The next Shout is directed towards the front, back and his sides. Then, all following casts becomes a regular AoE that hits all players. At this point, the raid will want to all move in the same direction as to quickly heal up the damage taken from this attack. Also when staying grouped up, the raid will be moving in the same direction {which is towards either end of the bridge). Before this point, just simply move out of the targeted directions of the Shout.

This boss may take a few attempts to get the hang of it, but once his abilities and mechanics are learned, its all a matter of reacting to them correctly. During Storm Fists, spread for Lightning Burst and rotate players for Thunder Arc. For Iron Fists, rotate protective cooldowns to counter the damage from the buff and from Quaking Punch and Destructive Strike.

Heroic Changes

  • Storm Fists lasts half as long but deals twice the damage per melee swing.
  • Destructive Strike becomes instant and causes the affected tank to take 100% more damage from subsequent Strikes.
  • Titanius' Thundering Shout will affect all directions starting from its first cast.
  • Shortly into the fight, Electricity Orbs will spawn that travel from one end of the Iron Bridge to the other, granting a buff to either the boss or players. It will also deal damage to anyone without the Titanic Power buff. Up to 3 orbs will travel back and forth on separate "lanes" of the bridge.
