Abilities
Phase One: The Serpent Rises
Karybdon emerges from the fountain at the beginning of the encounter.
- Sheer Cold When Karybdon emerges from the Fountain of the Loas or is empowered by a Globe of Pure Water, he will emit a wave of frost, dealing x Frost damage to the entire raid and inflicting a stack of Intense Cold.
- Intense ColdIncreases Frost damage taken by x%. This ability stacks and lasts for the entirety of the encounter.
- Water ShieldKarybdon envelops himself in a shield of magical water for the entirety of the Phase One, reducing damage taken from all sources by 75%.
- Head Slice Karybdon swipes its head with great force, dealing x damage and inflicting the player with Brittle Armor.
- Brittle ArmorReduces the target's armor by x% and slows attack speed by y%. This affliction stacks.
- Cold SlapKarybdon summons a wave of freezing wind, dealing x damage to all nearby players and knocking them back.
- Blades of IceKarybdon breathes three blades of ice which fly forward. If the a blade his a player, it will deal x Frost damage and split into three more blades which travel in the opposite direction.
- Ice SpearKarybdon creates a spike of ice at a random player's location. After x seconds, it will strike upwards, dealing y damage to any player in a z yard radius and knocking them upward into the air.
- Glacier Trap Karybdon freezes three random players in a block of ice, rendering them inactive and inflicting them with Suffocation until the traps are destroyed.
- SuffocationDeals x damage every three seconds.
- Globe of Pure Water Orbs imbued with the loas' power rise from pools below the fountain on the first floor and begin to slowly move towards Karybdon. If an orb reaches Karybdon, it will heal him for x damage and unleash Sheer Cold upon the raid.
Phase Two: Return to the Waters
Karybdon submerges into the Fountain of Loas after x seconds, exposing his tail. After y seconds, he will emerge and Phase One will begin again.
- Karybdon's TailKarybdon exposes his vulnerable tail while recharging his strength. While exposed, the Fountain of the Loas's defenses activate.
- The Chill of Karybdon The Fountain of the Loas fills the bottom floor and stairs of the arena with pulsing frost, dealing x Frost damage every second.
- Freezing WaterGlobs of freezing water spurt from the fountain, dealing x Frost damage and reducing movement speed by 75%. Each glob will spread out into a Freezing Puddle.
- Freezing PuddleDeals x Frost damage in a y yard radius. Evaporates after z seconds.
- HailstonesGiant boulders of ice rapidly rise from the fountain. After x seconds, they shoot at a random players' locations, dealing x Frost damage in a y yard radius.
- Sleet StormThe fountain periodically fills two-thirds of the arena with a storm of ice, dealing x Frost damage every second,
Phase Three: Release the Beast
Once his tail has been destroyed, Karybdon emerges from the fountain permanently, losing his protective Water Shield. He retains the rest of his abilities from Phase One and now casts Sheer Cold when any player is hit by Ice Spear. In addition, the fountain continues to spew Freezing Water and Hailstones.
Elite: Karybdon
To activate the Elite Mode for this encounter, the players must activate the spawning pools on the first floor of the arena prior to engaging Karybdon. Spawns of Karybdon emerge at the beginning of the encounter if the pools are activated.
Spawn of Karybdon
- Unfocused Aggression The Spawns of Karybdon spit freezing projectiles at random players. They cannot be taunted.
- Icy Empowerment The Chill of Karybdon strengthens the Spawns, increasing their damage and healthy by x%.
