C'Thun ordered the machine constructed at the height of his dark reign over Azeroth, its unfathomable function somehow tied to the ebb and flow of time itself. The tortured grinding of its gears grind down the stuff of time itself, twisting it in unnatural ways according to the whims of C'Thun. After an eternity, it will finally fulfill its purpose - to bring about the resurrection of C'Thun, the corruption of the infinite dragonflight, the ascendancy of the Old Gods, and the ultimate unmaking of Azeroth.
