Hunter Class Campaign.

Class Hall - Ven Halsing's Camp

Ven Halsing's Camp is an outpost located in the secluded forested wilderness of Valgarde, a haunted region of Northrend connected to the Bloodstone Chasm. The infamous vampyr hunter Ven Halsing and his followers established the camp as part of their crusade to hunt down and exterminate all the cursed beings who bear the curse of the vampyr. Halsing tracked the last of the san'layn of Northrend down, only to watch helplessly as the undead elves resurrected the vrykul queen Angerboda and transformed her into a new vampyr queen before slaughtering his closest comrades. Now, Halsing has raised a small army of the world's most skilled monster slayers to eliminate the vampyr curse, and calls upon the hunters of Azeroth to aid him in his quest.

Class Hall Special Benefits

Hunters may make use of hidden wilderness trails and secret tunnels located throughout the underworld to rapidly move throughout the region. These fast-travel sites allow hunters to rapidly move from Ven Halsing's camp to the various regions of the underworld and back. Hunters can also uncover the lairs of powerful beasts that only they have the skill to track and slay. These creatures can sometimes be tamed and made into strong allies.

Artifact Weapons

Tyl'Dak, Greatbow of the Black Eagle

The black eagle ancient, Rasvelg, is worshiped by the tainted furbolg who dwell in the roots of Vordrassil. The black eagle, already an ancient with a streak of malice in his nature, has been twisted by their dark veneration into a truly monstrous being. The hunter must defeat the wicked furbolg and seize the legendary greatbow their champion wields, a weapon imbued with the power of Rasvelg. The black arrows fired from Tyl'Dak can slay even the most monstrous of foes, and only this weapon may prove effective against the black eagle himself.

Wam'Cee, Starlance of O'Kariis

Wandering ethereal] traders bring the hunters word of a powerful rifle constructed in the fabled ethereal forge-city of O'Kariis with technology that was lost when K'aresh was shattered. The hunters are determined to retrieve the weapon, and venture with the traders through a warp-gate to the fragmented ruins of K'aresh, a broken world saturated in the dark power of the Void. After contending with vicious Void predators stalking the remnant of K'aresh, the hunters successfully retrieve the weapon, the mighty starlance Wam'Cee.

Longronn, the Spear of Nath

The hunters hear legends that the great hunting spear of Nath, first of the mok'nathal beastmasters, has been seen in the broken wilds of Outland. The hunters venture to the wilds of Outland, to a world fragment that once comprised the land of Gorgrond, to seek out the fabled spear. The hunter must contend with the vicious beasts of Outland and prove themselves against mok'nathal who also seek the spear. The hunter's journey will reveal secrets about the origins of the mok'nathal and their distant kin, the orcs and ogres, as well as their monstrous primeval progenitors, the magnaron.

Upgrade Legion Artifacts

The hunter imbues the longbow with the power Crystalsong Forest, fusing the energy of nature and the arcane into their weapon. The hunter must use these powers together against hideous, arcane-infused arachnid monsters unleashed by the nerubians.

Titanstrike

The hunters are summoned to Ulduar by Mimiron himself, who offers to upgrade the Titanstrike rifle once his workshop has been fully reactivated. Mimiron sends the hunters into the lower workings of Ulduar, where they must track down and slay the n'raqi fiends infesting the area. The hunters discover that many iron dwarves have been reactivated by the forces of the Old Gods and sent against Ulduar; with this disturbing revelation, Mimiron ensures that the power of Titanstrike is greatly upgraded in order to battle the corruption of the Old Gods.

Campaign Storyline

The Curse of the Vampyr

The hunters will be approached by agents of Halsing and invited to join his hunt against the vampyr and their servants. Traveling to the secluded wilderness of Valgarde, the hunters meet with Halsing and learn the nature of the vampyr threat, discovering its history while exploring the Bloodstone Chasm. After the War of the Ancients, a nathrezim dreadlord named Nosferath remained in the world, a plague upon the people of the newly Sundered Azeroth. Nosferath fed vampirically on the life's blood of his victims, enslaving their body and minds in undeath and turning them into the first vampyr. In time, kal'dorei hunters learned to fight and slay the vampyr, discovering that weapons made from the enchanted woods of Kalimdor could slay the vampyr if driven through their heart. The kal'dorei crafted a spear from the world tree Nordrassil and plunged it into the heart of Nosferath, destroying the fiend's body and trapping his soul within his impaled heart, preventing him from escaping to the Twisting Nether. The impaled heart of Nosferath was kept hidden in a Warden enclave in northern Kalimdor until vrykul raiders captured the relic, bearing it away to Northrend.

The vrykul soon discovered the dreadful power of the heart, and many among their number succumbed to Nosferath's power, transforming into more vampyr and spreading the curse. A monumental effort by vrykul vampyr hunters purged the curse from much of their lands, forcing the surviving vrykul vampyrs into hiding and long slumber, and Nosferath's heart was entombed again. It remained hidden for millennia, until it was discovered by the Scourge and the Lich King used its dark power to transform fallen blood elves into san'layn, vampyr elves under his control. The heart was hidden in the depths of Icecrown Citadel in the Lich King's personal vault until his death, whereupon the remaining san'layn stole it and bore it away into Azeroth's underworld. Seeking to renew the Scourge and control the vrykul who remained loyal to it, the san'layn raised Angerboda, the vrykul queen, and turned her into a vampyr, intending to use her as a puppet to control the vrykul. However, the san'layn underestimated the vrykul queen, and instead found themselves enslaved to her will. Angerboda took the spear from the heart of Nosferath as her weapon, allowing the heart's dark power to grow even greater, awakening powerful vrykul vampyrs from across Northrend to serve her.

Angerboda, Queen of the Vampyr

Ven Halsing witnessed the raising of Angerboda and tried to stop it, but was overwhelmed by the power of the heart of Nosferath, and could only watch helplessly as Angerboda rose and slaughtered his fellow hunters, leaving only him alive for her own twisted amusement. Angerboda intends to use the heart of Nosferath to create an army of vampyr that will overthrow the Lich King and make her the new queen of the dead. Ven Halsing vows to end the vampyr threat by tracking down the heart of Nosferath and finding some way of destroying it completely, with the hope that the heart's destruction will cause the vampyr curse to vanish from the world.

While Halsing and his allies track down the location of the heart, he crosses paths with his most hated enemy - the vrykul vampyr Count Urlox, who has reappeared in Northrend in search of the heart for himself. Urlox was the vampyr responsible of the deaths of Halsing's wife and daughter years ago, which drove him to hunt vampyr in the first place. After tracking down and confronting Urlox in his subterranean crypt-stronghold, Halsing and the hunter engage the vampyr in a brutal battle, during which Urlox reveals that Halsing's daughter was transformed by him into his vampyr slave. Halsing is badly injured when his turned daughter attacks him, and the hunter must finish Urlox alone. Afterwards, Halsing destroys his vampyr daughter, putting her soul to rest, but Halsing himself is now afflicted with the vampyr curse. Halsing makes the hunter vow to find Angerboda and the heart of Nosferath and destroy them both to liberate Azeroth from the curse. In the end, the hunter accompanies the afflicted Halsing to a secluded peak in the wilderness, the two of them staying together as the sun rises.

The Hunter Ven Halsing

Afterwards, the hunter takes of the ashes of Halsing and returns to vampyr hunter camp to honor the fallen hero. The ashes of Halsing empower the weapons of the hunter, who takes their place at the fore of the vampyr hunters. They must now pursue Angerboda and fulfill their vow to Halsing. Angerobda will be encountered in the Stoneforge raid as part of the main storyline. Defeating her will allow the spirit of Ven Halsing and his family to truly rest. It will also grant the hunter an artifact appearance for their spear weapon that will allow it to appear as the spear that once pierced the heart of Nosferath.
