Fall of Malykriss is a scenario in the Spider Kingdom.
Background
- Secure the fallen fortress Malykriss and put an end to the Twilight Cult!
After the Twilight Cult's failed attack on Dalaran, their flying fortress Malykriss is sent crashing into the Storm Peaks, opening up a new chasm into the depths of the underworld. The Kirin Tor dispatches a strike force to secure any survivors.

Stage guide
Stage 1: Into the Depths
- Accompany the Kirin Tor strike force to the site of the fallen necropolis, Malykriss.
- Archmage Modera yells: Kirin Tor, move out!
- The strike forces mounts up on armored Dalaran gryphons and descends into the depths.
- Archmage Modera yells: Be ready! There's something up ahead!
- The strike forces reaches the Polluted Flow, where scraps of saronite armor are scattered about. The wreck of Malykriss is visible in the distance.
- Archmage Modera yells: It's the necropolis! We've located it!
- Juwanamana says: Ayaa... the flow of energy here be twisted... diseased! The very air weeps with corruption!
- Danric the Bold says: It is the saronite. That vile substance pollutes everything it comes into contact with.
- Archmage Modera yells: We will land here and approach on foot. It won't be safe to land on the necropolis itself.
- The strike forces lands.
Stage 2: Securing the Necropolis
- Make your way through the fallen necropolis to secure prisoners and put down any resistance.
- Archmage Modera yells: Move into the wreckage! Secure any survivors! We need prisoners to interrogate, but don't take any chances!
- The Amazing Zanzo says: Don't worry about being gentle, kittens! I'm looking to heap some major payback on these creeps!
- Saedelin Whitedawn says: There will be no mercy for the followers of Twilight.
- The strike forces makes its way into the necropolis.
- Defeat Twilight Cult forces that are still able to fight.
- Secure defeated Twilight Cult forces that are no longer able to fight as prisoners. The arch-magi will teleport them to the Violet Hold.
- Archmage Pentarus yells: To the Violet Hold with you, Twilight scum!
- Archmage Lan'dalock yells: What did you ever hope to accomplish by attacking the city of magic?
Stage 3: The Master of Twilight
- Confront Xarosan in the shattered command bridge of the necropolis and obtain his surrender.
- Within the control bridge of the necropolis, the strike force encounters Xarosan. The body of Arthas Menethil is also present, frozen in black ice once again.
- Xarosan says: What was my error? Why was the revival a failure? Was the power of the eye not enough? Do I need more of the Old Gods body to...? What's this?!
- Archmage Modera yells: It is the cult leader! Take him now!
- Xarosan yells: How dare you!
- Defeat Twilight Master Xarosan and secure him as a prisoner.
- Xarosan yells: I will not lose to you! I had mastered the arcane 10,000 years ago!
- Xarosan yells: It is my destiny to raise the one who will conquer this world and smother it in darkness!
- Xarosan yells: You will not defeat me... I am the master of...!
- Xarosan is defeated and secured by the arch-magi with magical bonds.
- Xarosan says: No... this is not how it was supposed to be...
- Archmage Pentarus says: The prisoner is secured.
- Archmage Lan'dalock says: We shall begin the transport to the Violet Hold.
- Archmage Modera says: Good work everyone. Without their super-weapon and with their leader in our custody, the threat of the Twilight Cult will be at an end.
Stage 4: Fall Back from the Dread Iron Dwarf Assault
- The dread iron dwarves are suddenly attacking in full force. Fall back to the retreat portals before you are overwhelmed.
- Explosions and thunder suddenly rock the fallen necropolis.
- Archmage Modera yells: What's this?!
- Kirin Tor War Mage yells: Archmage! We're under attack from the outside!
- Hordes of monstrous metal-skinned dwarves begin flooding into the necropolis. Their spell-casters disrupt the magical bonds holding Xarosan.
- Dread Iron Dwarf yells: Folvynn buul hrom onn!
- Dread Iron Dwarf yells: Armies of iron will smother the world!
- Archmage Modera yells: Kirin Tor! Defend yourselves against this creatures!
- Dread Iron forces begin flooding into the necropolis in greater numbers.
- The Amazing Zanzo yells: Awfully determined, aren't they?
- Saedelin Whitedawn yells: Their numbers are endless!
- Archmage Modera yells: We cannot hold against this many! Kirin Tor, fall back!
- Retreat from the necropolis while surviving the onslaught of the Dread Iron Dwarves.
Final Stage: Defeat Mjornhal Wrathbolt
- Defeat the dread iron dwarf champion Mjornhal Wrathbolt.
- Archmage Modera yells: Archmagi! Prepare the retreat portals! We must re-group at Dalaran and inform the council of what has transpired here!
- Pentarus and Land'alock begin channeling the creation of a portal. Suddenly, a massive Dread Iron Dwarf appears - Mjornhal Wrathbolt, their commander.
- Mjornhal Wrathbolt yells: Flesh is no match for iron!
- Mjornhal's thunder-bolt strikes Archmage Modera, knocking her unconscious. The Kirin Tor soldiers move to defend her.
- Archmage Lan'dalock yells: Archmage Modera!
- Archmage Pentarus yells: Complete the portal! Kirin Tor, defend our leader!
- Mjornhal Wrathbolt yells: None of you are leaving here alive!
- Defeat Mjornhal Wrathbolt. The scenario will conclude after his death.
Outro
- With Mjornhal's defeat, the portal is completed and the Kirin Tor begin retreating. Modera recovers enough to stand.
- Archmage Pentarus says: Archmage, are you...?
- Archmage Modera says: I... will live. Everyone, move out.
- Atop the wreck of Malykriss, two figures suddenly appear. One is Xarosan, the other is a giant in fine robes with a silver hand.
- Tyr, Watcher of Order yells: Leaving so soon? I had expected more from the so-called masters of mortal magic.
- Archmage Modera says: By the council of Tirisfal... who is...?
- Tyr, Watcher of Order yells: You may call me Tyr. Mark the name well, little mage. For I am the architect of this world's future.
Cinematic
- Dark lightning flows out from Tyr across Malykriss. Armor plates are pulled together. Fallen wreckage floats into the air and re-unites with the broken necropolis. Slowly, it lifts into the air, and makes its way deeper into the darkness of the underworld.
- After the cinematic, players will be left in front of the empty crater where Malykriss once lay, with portals back to Dalaran behind them.
