Once an elemental of flame, the being that would become Abyssor rampaged across primordial Azeroth in endless battle for the amusement of the Old Gods. His destructive revels so entertained the Old Gods that they saw fit to bless him with greater and greater power, gradually transforming him from a creature of living flame into a walking abomination of corruption and darkness. His elemental flames transformed into their dark opposite, burning black with infinite cold. He had become Abyssor, a twisted creature of shadow.
When the Titans came to liberate Azeroth from the Old Gods chaotic rule, Abyssor was imprisoned within a stone obelisk and buried deep beneath the surface of the world. Millennia later, his obelisk was unearthed by the nerubians, who brought it to the Hanging Tower of Naz'Zuraq for study. In the wake of the Spider Kingdom's fall, the arach'layn have seized the Hanging Tower, and have released Abyssor to do their bidding.
Abilities
Shadow Bolt — Deals a burst of shadow damage to the target.
Shadow Volley — Hurls a bolt of shadow energy through the air, dealing damage to all nearby targets when it strikes and knocking them back.
Cloak of Darkness — Creates a massive area of darkness that renders all enemies standing in it invisible and untargetable.
Shell of Darkness — Absorbs spell damage and converts it into power for Shattered Shadows.
Shattered Darkness — Releases the energy gathered from Shell of Shadows against all targets.
Shadowshard Elemental — Summons a pack of small shadow elementals to attack the enemy.
Strategy
Abyssor remains stationary in the center of the Shadow Terrace after being freed from his prison obelisk. He has no threat table and cannot be tanked. He will make use of all of his abilities throughout the encounter.
Abyssor will periodically use Cloak of Darkness on an area of the Shadow Terrace, rendering any enemy forces standing in it untargetable. The Cloak does not affect Abyssor himself.
Heroic Mode Strategy
- Abyssor will cast Cloak of Darkness more frequently.
- Abyssor will periodically call upon the aid of Twilight Scourge forces to attack the party, in addition to the Shadowshard Elementals he summons.
Achievement
[15-35] Nowhere to Hide - Kill ten Twilight Hammer forces while they are affected by Abyssor's Cloak of Darkness.
