Mosen, are large bipedal moose, that walk upright on two legs. Mosen, are cousins to the Tauren race.

History

Origin

Pre-Sundering, there was no such thing as Mosen, before the Sundering the Mosen were just regular Tauren. They were alike their cousins the original Tauren, just days before the events of the Sundering two large Tauren clans, had gone into war. No knowledge of the events of the Sundering and was going on with the Well of Eternity, these two Tauren clans fought against each other. The Earthmother, had talked with both head shamans of each group but they both misinterpreted what the Earthmother had told them.

They thought the Earthmother, wanted them to kill each other and that the only true leader can lead both clans as one large tribe. Both chiefs fought for this position, what the Earthmother really wanted is for her children, to come together as one because just in a few days something big was happening. Sundering was occurring and the other Tauren tribe had cross the land before it separated.

The Tauren tribe, that had left when the Well of Eternity magic blasts moved and scattered the new continents around the large landmass island that the other Tauren left on had seceded from the rest of the world on the other side of the planet. The Tauren, named their new land Teterion, but what hadn't known as that they were not alone, other creatures were now native to this large island as well. Some of them mutated by the magics within the Well of Eternity.

These Tauren, had to adapt to the new climate which happened to be a snowy one. Thousands of years later, these Tauren had evolved to endure the hardy cold winds of the northern part of the island. Throughout their evolutionary process, they renamed themselves the Mosen, as the animals they herded looked alike them. Their horns grew into an odd shape, their fur grew thicker.

Over the years, the large tribe split into three smaller tribes, there was the Icehorn Tribe, the Wildhoof Tribe, and the Bloodarrow Tribe. The Wildhoof and Bloodarrow Tribes have split and moved to other parts of the large island of Teterion.

Siege of Icehorn Island

Over the years, the three tribes had made peace treaties with one another, and also have made aid pacts. There was a new threat in Teterion, this threat greatly hated the Mosen. There seemed to be other races on the island, one of those races happened to be bipedal insect humanoids, who have named themselves the Waspnid. The Waspnid, seeked to claim the island city of Icehorn, which happens to be off the coast of Teterion. The Waspnid, decided to lead a siege on Icehorn Island, so they may overthrow the city and recreate it into a large hive for the Waspnid.

Their first hive was destroyed by their archenemies other insectoids who call themselves the Arak'nids, eight legged humanoid spider-like creatures. The Arak'nids are mutations from the living Nerubians, who mutated from the magic of the Well of Eternity. The Waspnid, had attacked the Mosen with a sneak attack, though Mosen were hardy opponents, well trained warriors for war. The Waspnid, needed to find a weakness or at least a better plan to fight against these large beasts.

The Mosen armies were small in numbers but carried with them the might of their tribe, the only way for the Waspnid to succeed is they doubled their numbers. Everyday, more Waspid flew out from their large horrendous hive. There came a point in time, when the Waspnid almost overwhelmed the poor Mosen. Their shaman would sometimes perform Astral Projection and leave their bodies to go and find the other two head shaman of the other tribes and ask for aid.

The head shaman of the Bloodarrow Tribe received visions from the shaman of the Icehorn Tribe, coming out of his hut, he let out a battle cry. Suddenly, Mosen from their built watchtowers around their land, would blow in a large horn, to warn their people to prepare for war. Meanwhile, the Wildhoof Tribe, were moving to a different location, the leader had heard the loud horn, and pulled out a horn of his own.

Blowing into it, his people already in their battle armor, began marching westwards towards the Bloodarrow Tribe's city. From their both tribes reunited and marched north to Icehorn Island. Arriving at the island in a week's time, they had seen that the city was starting to get taken over by the Waspnid. Charging into battle, they had slain and been slain. The battle had gone on for weeks, until the Mosen tribes had prevailed and the remaining armies of the Waspnid fled back to their mother Hive.

Conclave of Three Horns

After the siege of Icehorn Island, was won by the three Mosen Tribes, the three leaders decides to form the Conclave of Three Horns. The other two chiefs had moved their tribes into Icehorn Island. Under new leadership, in the throne room there happened to now be three thrones, one for each leader of the three tribes. The Conclave of Three Horns, act as one, though they do have their opinions. But as council they do what's best for their people.

Mirdin's Pirates

A pirate captain by the name of Mirdin Easton, decided to make negotations with the Mosen. The Conclave decided to accept and create an alliance with the pirates. These pirates were in a war, and needed new recruits, several Mosen joined to be pirates. The Mosen and Mirdin's pirates had won themselves another battle against another faction of pirates.

Now, in this current time, Mirdin and his pirates have contributed to the island, and even built them a dock yard, and some of the pirates have built warships for the Mosen. Also the pirates import and export goods in the city, increasing the ecomony levels of the city in quite a well place.

Fall of the Queen

During the beginning of the campaign, against Queen Azshara, the Alliance and Horde had stumbled upon a large island, there they had discovered a Mosen fighting a Waspnid. Both fled in different directions, and the Tauren had followed the Mosen, to see if they can maybe get them to join the Horde and aid them in the war. The Mosen, had agreed to let both factions in their city for a week.

The Mosen leaders had a close watch on both factions and had observed their guests, time came when the Tauren discovered that the Mosen were cousins of the Tauren, they definitely could get blood to fight alongside them. The Conclave rejected the offer by the Tauren and their Horde, and described them as savage beasts, and had told them they would not ally themselves with savages. They were a peaceful people and as such they were also honorable and diplomatic.

Tauren were disappointed that in over thousands of years they thought they could reunite old bonds, the ancestors would be deeply proud. But there was a reason, why the Tauren and the Mosen were split up, during the Sundering. The conclave saw the Alliance and honorable, and diplomatic people, they decided to aid the Alliance in their war against Azshara and the Horde.

Appearance

They have a close resemblance, to their cousins the Tauren, though their fur is much thicker than that of a Tauren, they seem to be slightly taller, and have a larger girth. Instead of horns like the Tauren have, they have horns like that of a moose. Mosen usually range from 6'7" - 8'5" feet, and weigh around 400 - 600 pounds of weight.

Mosen, use the hides of the great beasts they had slain as their clothing, sometimes crafting things from Leatherworking, loincloths are worn by males as undergarments most of the time. In Mosen society, a Mosen always wears the head of a recently slain trophy animal as headwear. The Mosen troops wear warpaint that is created from crushed herbs and water.
