The naga are a serpentine race, originally Highborne elves, cursed by a pact made between themselves and the Old Gods by their queen, Azshara. As the Old Gods prepare to begin their conquest of Azeroth, Queen Azshara and the naga become their main force. A group of naga from the vast Deepscale tribe grow dissatisfied with their queen's actions, launching a rebellion under the banner of the Shorescale that leads them to the Alliance, lead by the grizzled and respected Deepscale commander Warlord Kral.

History

The Deepscale naga are a tribe situated in the Deepscale Depths. Lead by the powerful mage Lady Serath, the tribe was powerful, wealthy and respected among all naga.

But many among the Deepscale were dissatisfied. The naga had seen the return of the Old Gods approaching, and while most were optimistic, some were doubting their cause, particularly among this tribe - Serath was obsessed with the Old Gods and many became dubious. Queen Azshara began preparations for the return of the Old Gods, and Lady Serath would be her utmost subordinate.

Players are members of the Shorescale Rebellion, a small group of disgruntled naga no more powerful or influential than a street gang. Eventually though, the situation becomes so dire that many flock to the cause, including Serath's distinguished right-hand man, Warlord Kral. Embarrased to turn to the commonfolk, Kral joins the Shorescale in secret and is immediately recognised as their leader. Kral turned many in Serath's palace against the Deepscale, and the rebellion used this newfound influence to launch their attack. They would have one chance to eliminate Serath. One chance to stop the Old Gods.

The Shorescale launch their attack, but after a great battle do not succeed. They are forced to retreat, their only hope to swallow their pride and request the Alliance's protection in exchange for their allegiance in the fight against Azshara and the Old Gods. Lead by Warlord Kral, the Shorescale naga seek to halt the march of the Black Empire, redeeming their people and restoring their honor.

Mounts

The naga's racial mount is the snap dragon, an aquatic lizard which resembles the naga themselves. Snap dragons can be purchased in blue, green and purple, with armored variants of all three.
