Ivyspine Coast is a zone in The Waking Dream. Salt seas and mangrove swamps surround this dense jungle while hexagonal spires the size of mountains rise and fall in strange geometric patterns across it's breadth. The realm's instability has caused titanic vaults to rise from the murk, exposing the underlying telemetry of the Dream. Invaders from the lower planes crawl from watery depths and tangled groves; lost creatures whose presence fills the heart with the fear of famine and winter's harrowing chill.

History

Geography

This land is among the most diverse in the Emerald Dream, yet the recent upheavals with the loss of Nordrassil have destabilized the region. It is most famous for it's curious rock formations; the land is routinely split by hexagonal spires of dark stone that rise and fall gently as one walks through it. These can range from only a few feet high to the size of mountains, and the titular Ivyspine is a range of angular peaks formed by these hexagonal pillars, resembling an enormous beast's spine, covered in rampant greenery.

The northern lands are a mix of bright rainforests that conceal amber-colored mangrove swamps. The shores of the coastline are marked by crystal-clear tide pools in between small isles of glittering white sand. However, as one goes south, the landscape becomes immeasurably more feral. Tangled groves of wild life choke the spires, rendered slick with constant rain. What little solid ground there one can find is merely a carpet of decaying greenery over fathomless mires. The Blightmoor is the largest of these swamps, but the upheaval of the Dream has caused Titanic ruins to surface from deep below, exposing the underlying life-support systems of the nascent worldsoul. The swamps end at a brackish coastline of stormy seas and those same, strange resolute spires.

If one can cross these seas, they will be rewarded with possibly the most surreal and lonely places the Dream can still offer. The Isles of Phosphor are eternally dark, lit by bioluminescent jungles, surrounded by gentles tides of phosphorescent algae. The denizens of these isles are algal giants and bizarre Wild Gods, as well as a solitary titanic watcher, contemplating her lost purpose.
