Hydromancer Val'noth Can be considered the 3th or 4th boss of Ny'alotha
Background
Empowered by N'zoth himself, This Twilight cultist was sent to stop any intruders in getting into the Main city of Ny'alotha. He is blessed and gifted by the stolen powers of Neptulon himself.
Abilities
Berserk — Increases all damage done by 500% and becomes Immune to taunt in addition increases all movement speed by 300% | Activated if 6 mins have passed
Human form - Embrance the cold!
Cold Infused Slash — Slashes the target two times, Inflicting 150% weapon damage and 100% of that damage as frost
Grasp of frost — Encases two targets within Ice, The block of ice will then create fractures of frost within the area inflicting frost damage every second until the encased ice of the targets are broken in addition to all targets will take an increase damage taken by frost spells by 5% for every tick for 30 seconds
Shattering Cold — Deals a massive amount of frost damage to the target and freezes it for 15 seconds
Ice Behemoth form - Neptulon's Power
- Hailstorm — Fires in 4 lines upon an area, The lines will then shoot streams of Ice that inflicts 125,000 frost damage and freeze any targets for 5 seconds
Blistering Shatter — Instantly deal 125% of the targets health in under 5 seconds to all frozen targets. If targets are not frozen then this spell will be neglected
- Era of frost — Channels a powerful stream to all nearby targets reducing all casting time and attack speed by 300% until the spell is Interrupted, A tick last for 5 seconds however if the spell isn't Interrupted It will be come 10 seconds to 15 seconds to a maximum of 30 seconds.
Phase 2 - Buried in ice!
- Liquify — Inflicting 125% damage in health within 10 seconds, If targets are frozen then the spell will deal double the damage
- Frozen Abyss — Inflicting frost damage every 1 second and Increases damage by 5% every tick.
Boss Tactics and Information
Val'anoth's tactics are straight forward, When first engaged Val'anoth will be in his human form with simple tank and spank abilities. The only Tedius part of this boss is whenever Val'noth does
- Grasp of frost — Encases two targets within Ice, The block of ice will then create fractures of frost within the area inflicting frost damage every second until the encased ice of the targets are broken in addition to all targets will take an increase damage taken by frost spells by 5% for every tick for 30 seconds
The DPS must break the encased targets before the damage gets too far as however long Grasp of frost last. The more damage goes out due to frost damage being increased, Since Grasp of frost damage affects all targets. The main tank will suffer the most damage due to Van'noths Cold Infused slash also deals additional damage due to frost damage taken unless It falls off. Another deadly ability would be Shattering cold due to the Increase damage taken to frost spells upon Grasp of frost a target will most likely 1 shot someone unless it has a shield of some sort or a CD.
Within 50% Val'noth will transform into a Ice Elemental like behemoth giving him new abilities that he can use through out the entire encounter. After 10% Val'noth will become Desperate and summon a Hailstorm that deals massive frost damage every second which is a complete burn phase before he kills you.
Heroic Changes
Two targets are now chosen Instead of one by
- Shattering Cold — Deals a massive amount of frost damage to the target and freezes it for 15 seconds
This spell will now 1 shot any targets frozen
- Blistering Shatter — Instantly deal 125% of the targets health in under 5 seconds to all frozen targets. If targets are not frozen then this spell will be neglected
Hailstorm will be cast 3 times rather then one single cast
- Hailstorm — Fires in 4 lines upon an area, The lines will then shoot streams of Ice that inflicts 125,000 frost damage and freeze any targets for 5 seconds
