The Skull of Tyrannistrasz

The Skull of Tyrannistrasz is exhibited in the Ironforge museum.[77, 26]

Many archaeologists in the Explorers' League support the idea of returning the skull to Tyrannistrasz' people, the red dragonflight.[1] However, by the time of the war against the Primalists, Archmage Khadgar sent numerous requests to the League to have the skull transported and laid to rest within Northrend, but it continues to be on display in the Hall of Explorers.[2]

Notes

The plaque on the skull's pedestal reads:

The remains of the gargantuan red dragon were found in the Wetlands shortly after the Battle of Grim Batol. Tyrannistrasz was rumored to have been the elder consort of the Dragonqueen, Alexstrasza.

Notes

A transcript of the plaque is also included in World of Warcraft: The Dragonflight Codex. There, his name is spelled "Tyranastrasz"[2] instead of its in-game spelling, Tyrannistrasz.

Patch changes

  • Cataclysm Patch 4.3.0 (2011-11-29): The spelling of Alexstrasza's name on the plaque has been corrected.
    Previously 'Alextrasza'.
