Template talk:QuoteWiki

From Warcraft Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Wikipedia has long (and even longer) quotes as well and the author in the next line, and so do they have redirects and disambigs at the top. And similar templates on other wikis as well. Why would that be issue here? I'd say that having the author stuffed in the line where the long quote ends doesn't even look nice visually & structurally. Given its heavy usage, lets hear at least a few more voices. Plus, at certain resolutions and zoom levels it breaks, looking horribly and solving nothing. --Mordecay (talk) 23:09, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

Proposal for narrow screens

On narrow screens (e.g. mobile view) when placed directly after a float:right infobox, this template ends up very narrow and very tall (height depends on the length of the quote; for Defias Brotherhood, it could be as tall as 12161px), resulting in a huge space of nothing. I've written up a proposed change (https://warcraft.wiki.gg/index.php?title=Template:QuoteWiki/sandbox&oldid=5822164) intended to fix this issue. --BryghtShadow (talk) 23:34, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
