Template talk:Proftip
Slot
- Personal Electromagnetic Pulse Generator
- Waist
- Requires Engineering (390)
- Permanently attaches a high-powered device to your belt, allowing you to confuse nearby mechanicals. Only a skilled engineer can activate the modified belt.
Can only be attached to your own belt, and doing so causes the belt to become soulbound. - Requires [Overcharged Capacitor] (4)
Does anyone think slot would be useful? Such as this kind of instance. Howbizr(t·c) 6:43 PM, 2 Aug 2009 (EDT)
- Aye, slot is good for even normal enchants done by enchanters too.. plus all the other professions that are starting to "enchant". (Sssss/Slithered) 22:48, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- On the other hand, that information is right there in the enchant/effect description. -- foxlit (talk) 22:52, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Loops
Like on Overcharged Capacitor: the current problems stem from attempting to transclude this template as if it was {{tooltip}}. Some amount of the tpl/mode/arg boilerplate could probably be used on pages using this template; or we could simply declare that you can't use item to link non-items. -- foxlit (talk) 22:50, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- I wasn't sure what all that was for, but I'll throw it in and update the doc. Please monitor my changes Foxlit to make sure I did it correctly. Howbizr(t·c) 6:58 PM, 2 Aug 2009 (EDT)
- Just using {{{{{tpl|proftip}}} instead of {{proftip on the individual pages should be sufficient. -- foxlit (talk) 23:07, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- No Foxlit is correct. The links on [Overcharged Capacitor] are working now without template loops. Howbizr(t·c) 7:45 PM, 2 Aug 2009 (EDT)
Tools
Perhaps a line break for the tools section like how reagents was done as well? Of course that's just personal preference. (Sssss/Slithered) 22:51, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- I yanked it originally: it looked like wasted vertical space to me. What could be done to lessen the asymmetry is to display the reagents on a single line if there's only one reagent, and on multiple lines otherwise. -- foxlit (talk) 22:54, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Javascript
Do I need to do anything to fix this javascript mouseover? [Flexweave Underlay] Howbizr(t·c) 7:26 PM, 2 Aug 2009 (EDT)
- I think that is a Pcj task. -- (M o r p h | C | T ) 23:32, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Possibly. I pinged him already, but I wanted to get the response on this page so others would see it. As a clue, [Transmute: Eternal Life to Shadow] and [Transmute: Eternal Life to Shadow] both work. Howbizr(t·c) 7:42 PM, 2 Aug 2009 (EDT)
- Could it be the 2 line breaks in the |effects= paramater? that is the only difference I see between the working and non-working. -- (M o r p h | C | T ) 00:02, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- It breaks if there are any common-quality item links in the tooltip; I added a workaround that should make things work when the cache serving the relevant javascript updates (5 hours). -- foxlit (talk) 00:26, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

TODO: Creating a non-item
- Abyssal Shatter
- Requires: Enchanting (445)
- Tools:
- Reagents:
- Creates:Essence or Dust
- "Random quantity of essence or dust."
Disenchants an Abyss Crystal into Greater Cosmic Essence or Infinite Dust.- 3 sec cast
I will be adding support to the template for any other recipes like this. [Essence or Dust] just looks to be a stand in, not an actual item. See mmo champion for more information. Howbizr(t·c) 7:17 PM, 30 Sep 2009 (EDT)
Tooltip compatability
Many profession recipes share the same name as the item created. These pages presently have generic item tooltips by default, but I would like to be able to create proftips using meta data from the same page. In order to do this however, there needs to be resolution of conflicting attributes. (Calling proftip is, of course, a simple matter of setting the tpl= attribute). One attribute I've identified as conflicing is cooldowns. Would it be possible to change {{{cooldown}}}
to {{{createcooldown|{{{cooldown}}}}}}
so that the cooldown attribute may be overriden by createcooldown if it exists? This will be useful for tooltips of items that have cooldowns of their own, and a differing profession cooldown to create the item, when both share the same name. D.D. Corkum (T / C) 15:24, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
Documentation
The documentation is outdated. Many options listed there may not be working, or I have to adjust the template so that it works as the documentation says. Hanskamp (talk) 09:50, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
