I am unable to get links using this template to work. Neither Safari nor Firefox seem to translate %3D correctly in urls. The example|link doesn't work for me. --Ziana 15:07, 1 January 2007 (EST)

Request to Merge, Removed

I've removed the request to merge with Template:Bluepost because the two templates serve different purposes. This one is just for inline links while the other is for block citations.--Hobinheim (talk · contr) 18:39, 19 January 2007 (EST)

Oh, I didn't see this being inline. In that case, this should be not be used, since it doesn't keep a quote. Blizzard forum doesn't keep stuff for longer than a few month you Know. --Voidvector 18:46, 19 January 2007 (EST)

Inline vs Citation

What is the intended usage? In the Flame Leviathan article, I'm seeing it being used for a citation, but then the formatting isn't correct when compared to {{Ref web}}. -Howbizr (talk) 01:32, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm going to answer my own question (in case anyone else ever wonders) and say it's primarily for Hotfixes, and should not be used for citations. Or rather {{ref web}} is preferred. -Howbizr (talk) 20:00, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Forum aggregator websites

Many people, myself included, prefer MMO Champion or others over the actual forums, because these archiving sites keep the posts up for longer, plus they concatenate the Blizzard responses together. Please check out {{Blizzforumlink/dev|<external>}} to see if that could meet that need. Obviously we could apply this to {{BlizzEUforumlink}} as well. -Howbizr (talk) 19:59, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, the question then really becomes which blue aggregation site to prefer. The WP:EL policy also comes in here. Also, I know the WoW forums themselves have a blue aggregator, does that work for this purpose? --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 20:04, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
I'd perfer anything Blizzard, but I've just seen a lot of references that are now broken. And without any more information than just a link, who knows what post they originally were referencing. I'm fine with Blizz's, WoW Bluetracker, MMO Champion, or anything else - as long as they archive for good. So far the 3rd parties have been more reliable than Blizz.
