Purpose
This template adds a Hatnote at the top of an article. This template works like {{for}}, but is used specifically for articles with alternate timeline versions with prime universe counterparts.
Usage
- Syntax

- Output
- For the character from an alternate universe, see NPC NAME (alternate universe).
- For the ARTICLE TYPE from an alternate universe, see PAGE (alternate universe).
- For the character from an alternate universe, see NPC NAME.
- For the ARTICLE TYPE from an alternate universe, see NPC NAME.
- Parameters
- If no parameters are given the page linked to is the same name with "(alternate universe)" at its end.
- Example: The hatnote at the Gul'dan article will be this:

- Syntax:
- Example: The hatnote at the Gul'dan article will be this:
- If an ARTICLE TYPE parameter is given the "character" word will be replaced with the type entered.
- Example: The hatnote at the Thunderlord clan article will be this:
- Syntax:

- Output: For the clan from an alternate universe, see Thunderlord clan (alternate universe).
- Syntax:
- Example: The hatnote at the Thunderlord clan article will be this:
- If a PAGE parameter is given the page linked to will have a different name than the current page name.
- Example: The hatnote at the Kirrik the Awakened article will be this:

- If both ARTICLE TYPE and PAGE parameters are given the "character" word will be replaced with the type entered and the page linked to will have a different name than the current page name.
- Example: The hatnote at the Laughing Skull clan article will be this:
