Template:Foralt

Purpose

This template adds a Hatnote at the top of an article. This template works like {{for}}, but is used specifically for articles with alternate timeline versions with prime universe counterparts.

Usage

Syntax
  1. {{Foralt}}
  2. {{Foralt|1=ARTICLE TYPE}}
  3. {{Foralt|2=PAGE}}
  4. {{Foralt|1=ARTICLE TYPE|2=PAGE}}
Output
  1. For the character from an alternate universe, see NPC NAME (alternate universe).
  2. For the ARTICLE TYPE from an alternate universe, see PAGE (alternate universe).
  3. For the character from an alternate universe, see NPC NAME.
  4. For the ARTICLE TYPE from an alternate universe, see NPC NAME.
Parameters
  • If no parameters are given the page linked to is the same name with "(alternate universe)" at its end.
Example: The hatnote at the Gul'dan article will be this:
Syntax: {{Foralt}}
Output: For the character from an alternate universe, see Gul'dan (alternate universe).
  • If an ARTICLE TYPE parameter is given the "character" word will be replaced with the type entered.
Example: The hatnote at the Thunderlord clan article will be this:
Syntax: {{Foralt|1=clan}}
Output: For the clan from an alternate universe, see Thunderlord clan (alternate universe).
  • If a PAGE parameter is given the page linked to will have a different name than the current page name.
Example: The hatnote at the Kirrik the Awakened article will be this:
Syntax: {{Foralt|2=Dawn-Seeker Kirrik}}
Output: For the character from an alternate universe, see Dawn-Seeker Kirrik.
  • If both ARTICLE TYPE and PAGE parameters are given the "character" word will be replaced with the type entered and the page linked to will have a different name than the current page name.
Example: The hatnote at the Laughing Skull clan article will be this:
Syntax: {{Foralt|1=clan|2=Laughing Skull Orcs}}
Output: For the clan from an alternate universe, see Laughing Skull Orcs.
