Template:Dead link

This template can be placed inside references and after external links to indicate that the link is permanently non-functional. An optional argument can be used to pass the full url of an archived copy. If no url is passed, the page will be added to Category:Articles with dead external links.

Before adding this template, consider searching for an archived copy of the linked page (such as through the Wayback Machine), or in the case of very unimportant external links, simply deleting them.

If the URL has an equals sign ( = ), replace it with {{=}}.
