Taruk is a tauren member of the Northsea Freebooters located at Scalawag Point in the Howling Fjord. He is a really good gambler, as "Silvermoon" Harry, Jack Adams, and Black Conrad owe him money.

During the trial of Garrosh Hellscream, Warlord Zaela hired the Northsea Freebooters to help her free Garrosh from the Temple of the White Tiger. A tauren pirate fought Varian Wrynn before being killed by a warlock's felguard.[1] As Taruk is the only known tauren in the crew, it may have been him.
