Talonixa was a golden proto-dragon who led the intelligent proto-dragons against Galakrond and the undead. She was larger than most proto-dragons, with only Neltharion and a few others being bigger. Talonixa was commanding and cunning, and Malygos did not trust her.[1]

Her mate, Zorix, was a victim of Galakrond, and Talonixa became the alpha of the proto-dragons and quickly encouraged the other proto-dragons to destroy Galakrond and the not-living. She was noticed to have given Coros, Malygos's rival, favor as evidenced by her allowing him to hunt with her and Coros appeared to have some sway over her, as evidenced by him convincing her to allow Ysera to speak her belief of peace with Galakrond with the other dragons. Vehemently disagreeing with Ysera upon the idea of peace, Talonixa was able to quickly rally the majority of the proto-dragons to her side.[2]

The two would come into conflict when it was discovered that those proto-dragons bitten by the not-living would become like Galakrond. After a moment of hostility, Talonixa would appear to agree with Ysera to spare the bitten dragons under the condition that they would be quarantined for the safety of the others. To Ysera's shock, Talonixa quickly collapsed the canyon the bitten were directed into which eventually killed all the bitten trapped inside. [3]

Despite receiving news of Coros's betrayal and death by Galakrond, Talonixa did not hesitate to carry out her planned attack against Galakrond. Hearing Galakrond roar but seeing him not appear caused Talonixa to boast her belief of the great behemoth being too afraid to face her and the rest of the proto-dragons. Before the proto-dragon army engaged their enemy in battle Malygos devised a plan in which the army would fly higher in the air where Galakrond could not fly. Quickly informing Talonixa of his plan, Malygos was relieved to note that she was considering it. However, hearing his sigh, Talonixa took it as a sign of Malygos's satisfaction with her bowing to his wisdom and engaged Malygos in battle. While Nozdormu and Neltharion were quick to help Malygos, Talonixa was helped by her two lieutenants. Despite Nozdormu encouraging a retreat, Neltharion openly called for Malygos to fight Talonixa and became the new alpha, an action which enraged Talonixa and brought more of her followers to join her. This caused the trio to flee high into the air.[4]

Highly arrogant and prideful Talonixa was caught by surprise by an attack by the not-living and did not hesitate to claim Malygos's plan in destroying them as her own, and even attacked him when he tried to protest her claim. Upon Galakrond joining the battle Talonixa was quick to lead her followers into battle. Becoming consumed with utter madness, Talonixa, rather than attempting to flee Galakrond's mist attack, flew further to attack her foe. This ultimately proved to be her undoing as Galakrond bit into her as she turned to flee. Fighting against her inevitable death, Talonixa tried in vain to free herself before Galakrond chomped down and split her in half.[5]
