According to Rise of the Horde, Blackhand became warchief before crossing into Azeroth. Perhaps we should note the contradiction? Kimera757 03:46, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Mor'ghor

I made this edit a while ago but I wanted to bring it up here anyway. Mor'ghor is called Warchief of the Dragonmaw although he is more of a chieftain or warlord then warchief. Any ideas?  MoneygruberTheGoblinChieftain of the Gentleman Tribe(talk contribs) 18:52, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Proper Succession?

The basis for having Thrall as the warchief of the horde is him being named such by Orgrim. However, Warcraft I and II make clear that warchief is a title reinvented and appointed by the shadow council, not one appointed by the previous warchief. Following that logic, Kargath Bladefist (initiate of the inner circle of the shadow council and self-appointed warchief (just like Ner'zhul)) would be the last legitimate warchief, with Thrall being part of a different succession. --Ijffdrie (talk) 21:48, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

The average orc did not know about the Shadow Council, and Orgrim did not care about them (having killed most of them). He killed Blackhand and took the title. The orcs left on Draenor did their own thing, getting an orc that had ties to the Shadow Council back in charge. The Horde split, but the direct successor is Doomhammer, with a Shadow Council member taking some back later.--SWM2448 00:11, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

I don't disagree with Doomhammer being in the line of succession, as he was appointed by the shadow council. I disagree with Thrall being in the same line of succession. Possibly, you could identify two lines of successions (Blackhand->Ner'zhul/Doomhammer->Kargath Bladefist and Doomhammer->Thrall->Garrosh), but Thrall and Blackhand aren't in the same line.--Ijffdrie (talk) 00:20, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Doomhammer was not appointed by the Shadow Council. The Warcraft II manual states that one of his first acts was to kill them all (page 64 of the Battle.net edition). I don't think this point has been retconned.--SWM2448 00:31, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
