Gear

The "max FR" gear rule seems to be falling into disuse. The BA is random and will knock out your healers so in essence you are on a timer vs Vael. In our guild the ranged ignore the FR gear (except for non-sacrificial changes) and just go for all-out dps; i understand other guilds do too. --Sabelaide 04:37, 25 October 2006 (EDT)

In our guild we have rogues in a group its 1 priest that spams Prayer of Healing, this means that rogues dont have to use any FR at all -- D ♠ T ♣ C ♦  11:37, 13 January 2007 (EST)

Mindcontrol

Mindcontrolling the Spellbinders to get the +83 Fireresist Buff has been declared an exploit by at least one GM: [1]

Somebody posted that screenshot on the forums and by : "blue" Community managers it's been labelled as "not an exploit" and using game mechanics, the technique is actually encouraged. That 1 GM must have been a Rooky. Its nothing to worry about. why on earth else would they put a +83 FR buff on a mob with a 1 hour cooldown in the first place? i wouldnt be suprised it the buff shouldnt stack with auras though. In fact I've read about some change in 1.11 where blizzard makes this buff vanish upon leaving blackrock spire (i.e. "zoning"). Can't say if its a hoax, though.--Thundor 09:28, 26 April 2006 (EDT)
Disconfirmed. It still stays through zoning as of 6th of August 2006, so no such change has been made yet. --Asherett 21:35, 7 August 2006 (EDT)

Is Vaelastrasz the Corruped immune to fire? Shouldn't this be stated explicitly? Would be interesting to see more mob resist information throughtout. GLOCK [2] is a nice resource for this. --Asherett 21:41, 7 August 2006 (EDT)

Incorrect Information Removed

I removed the part about the Fire Buff not working as of 1.12, it most certainly continues to persist after exiting the instance.

I also adjusted the amount given to reflect the fact the actual value of the buff depends on the level of the Spellbinder that casts it.

Cleave

Weren't chain cleaves removed in a recent patch? Or was Vaelastrasz exempt from this? -- Dark T Zeratul 06:34, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Hearthstone art as infobox image

I don't think we should use Caelestrasz' TCG art as Vaelastrasz' infobox image. If we do, then that means we could just as easily use File:Kalecgos BotA.jpg for Malygos' infobox, or File:Brokentoe TCG.jpg as the main image for the kodo article. Basically, in cases like these where the Hearthstone team consciously use pre-existing art for one character (Cael) to represent another, separate character who has never received unique art of their own (Vael), I think it makes more sense to stick with what the art piece was originally used for. The artist originally created the TCG artwork intending it to be a depiction of Caelestrasz, not Vaelastrasz, not to mention it might confuse readers to see Cael and Vael represented on Wowpedia with the exact same artwork, so IMO we should only use the TCG art as the image on Caelestrasz' infobox and stick with the in-game screenshot for Vaelastrasz' infobox (the Cael art can still be included on Vael's article as part of trivia about his Hearthstone appearance, but it shouldn't be presented as the definitive depiction of the character). Just my two cents. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male.gif DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 08:44, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

Split

His encounter version is named Vaelastrasz the Corrupt. Vaelastrasz, Vaelan, and Vaelastrasz the Red are friendly NPCs that currently redirect to this page. I suggest to have an encounter page named Vaelastrasz the Corrupt solely for the encounter. Then have Vaelastrasz for the NPC info & lore of Vaelastrasz, Vaelan and Vaelastrasz the Red, and have there the background info, quests, and a dialogue with Rend that is currently missing on this page but is transcribed in wowhead comments. --Mordecay (talk) 11:24, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
