I watched the movie too, but I believe Varian's mother was a unique addition to it. As far as I know she never made any appearances in the game universe, not even being name-dropped once. I do not play WoW, so I ask humbly, is whomever created this page simply asuming this is Varian's mothers name in the game universe too - or is there any proof in any of the new content? --Amargaard (talk) 20:13, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Elephant in the room

Identifying the actress' Ethiopian features and complexion to Stranglethorn humans is somehow risky. I don't think it's relevant here, I don't really have an explanation or anything better to put either. No explanation was provided, and only one child of hers (Adariall, Varian's older sister in the movie) out of two appears to have inherited mildly recognizable African-like features, which doesn't even look intentional. The only reason that's there is to speculate whether or not she and Lothar are siblings. And in WoW lore, humans with that skin color are seemingly from Stranglethorn. This isn't about any racial thing or about that topic. It's like speculating that an orc with green screen was probably part of the Orcish Horde. That the actress is Ethiopian is not important in the lore since we are talking about Warcraft not the real life. Similar to how a big white dude in WoW could be from Kul Tiras due to them being bulky. And yes, the actors and actresses were surely chosen for their acting records. I mostly agree, since "brother" can mean anything really. But since her appearance hasn't been shown in-game (which is where her looks would have mattered, not in the movie), and the movie doesn't state that Anduin Lothar is the last of the Arathi, it doesn't make any sense to try and tie loose ends about it here.--KIROCHI) 12:25, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
