This article's kinda outdated. Sorcerers were removed from the Warcraft-based RPG games as soon as the WoW RPG came into being. The only thing close to one now is a Focused Mage ( APG ) who chose the 'Boundless Mind' arcana, which allows them to memorize spells without a book. Not descended from dragons or demons or fey anymore, spellcasting ability is no longer determined by Charisma scores, they're just really good at remembering things. 'Sorcerer' would be a general term, like 'mage' and 'arcanist'. --Super Bhaal 19:06, 2 May 2007 (EDT)

This article isn't about gameplay, more about "written" lore, it only quotes the lore info, and related pictures, as well as sorcerers mentioned in World of Warcraft game, and stories. High elf "sorcerers" were an NPC/class reintroduced in Alliance Player's guide as well. Believe me RPG gameplay itself will be left out of the article entirely... Its kind off the main topic, so difficult to incorporate in the article, but I found this bit of lore from Lands of Conflict about sorcerers and the Arena in Stranglethorn Vale to kinda of interesting;

Sorcerers are perhaps the most worrisome class for the stable guards, as they have no spellbooks that the trolls can confiscate. Sorcerers are held in solitary, gagged and bound, and are treated no better than beasts in the Arena. Sorcerers in Stranglethorn Vale are as good as dead and would be wise to pose as wizards with bogus spellbooks or refuse to use their powers.
