Salamander is a better name. Should the title therefore be changed?

If they're called that in game, and if you're quite sure that's how they should be called, then yeah, the title should be changed. "Fire Naga" sounds like a stupid name to me for such an article. Straight up Fire Naga makes more sense than that. Schmidt 03:23, 1 Jan 2006 (EST)

I recommend the title be changed to Salamander and that references to "fire naga" be removed. Further, I don't think that the Dark Iron Dwarfs became "fire naga" or Salamanders. Salamanders are creatures born of elemental fire (just seach google for them.) It makes much more sense for Rag's lieutentants to be creatures of elemental fire that he's ruled over since the dawn of time, rather than mortal beings that he corrupted "recently." I've not edited wiki pages before, so I didn't really think I should now without some other concurrence.

I feel I must diagree on this account I believe that these fire naga or salamanders or firewakers whatever you feel they should be called look to much like naga I mean the naga were a sentient race that were changed by the old gods and the fire lord the dark iron dwarves clan now serves is a general of sorts to the old gods so why shouldn't these creatures be made from this same dark power threw these dwarves? and therefore I believe until this theory has been completly disproven the picture on the origins of the races page mentioned below should be put back on. I guess he is refering to this image on the Origin of the races page. In this image it is implied that "Fire Naga" are descendants of Dark Iron dwarves.

By the way, as I have already explained here flamewakers and salamanders are not the same creatures. So the redirect should probably be removed. -- Foogray 11:45, 4 April 2006 (EDT)

Is the salamander a reptile?

It has come to my attention that most reptiles (with the exption of snakes) in the warcraft univers have six limbs. If the salamander is related to the Kodo, which is mammalian, then the salamander itself must be considered a mammal. Charred But Alive 09:50, 21 June 2006 (EDT)

The six legs thing is a convention, if even that much, not a rule. And the kodo connection has little bearing. After all, birds exhibit mammalian qualities, yet are descended from the Dinosauria class of reptiles. --Ragestorm 16:37, 21 June 2006 (EDT)

Salamander and Flamewaker

And sometimes their loot has little or nothing to do with them, such as Prince Malchezaar dropping Gorehowl. Don't try to make connections that don't exist purely off of one piece of loot from one boss.
