Talk:Reckoning (paladin talent)

Does "Next 4 weapon swings" count Hammer of the Righteous? Not that it would matter much, but if HotR is a 6sec CD and you have a slow swinging weapong, you're pretty much guaranteed 1 swing while under the effect. Probably has no practical purpose other than making your DpS look slightly better, but it would be neat. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kheetah (talk · contr).

History section could use some clean up

Reckoning has never been in any talent tree besides protection.

The talent could store a maximum of 4 charges, not 5.

Probably should have a link to http://www.wowwiki.com/Reckoning_Bomb

A.K.A. "This is all kind of vague and since I didn't personally play a paladin back then, I don't know how accurate or relevant any of it is. help lol"

  • (added Jan 2007) Reckoning is triggered by any damage, including spells, melee attacks, ranged attacks, and environmental effects, such as campfire damage.
  • (Apr 2007) As long as your weapon is 2.0 or slower, it makes no difference for Reckoning. Elandris at "Reckoning: Why weapon speed doesn't matter". (this one also had an absolute boatload of math with it)
  • (Aug 2007) The extra attacks do not affect proc rates, so the Paladin will get twice as much out of Seals, Judgments, and Enchantments. This means Censure can be applied twice as fast when using [Seal of Truth].
  • (Apr 2008) This ability used to be in the Retribution tree long ago when World of Warcraft was new, but moved with the introduction of [Crusader Strike], which became the main damage ability for Retribution Paladins.
  • (July 2011) It has a 10/20% chance of triggering when blocking, meaning the more sources of damage taken by the Paladin, the higher the chance the Paladin's damage output will increase. When AoE grinding, the increase in weapon-swing frequency from Reckoning combined with the use of [Seal of Insight] can regenerate health faster than the Paladin can lose it.

(i'm a little baffled at the April 2008 one, since in classic it appears to be a prot talent, not ret) —Eithris (talk) 22:41, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
